Book Description

Book Two of the Halsey Brothers Series

Maeve Loman has had her heart crushed before; she isn't about to have it happen again. When she takes Zeke Halsey up on his offer to help her discover the truth behind her father's disappearance, she's sure she can control her traitorous body and not fall for the man's considerable charms.

Zeke Halsey has wanted Maeve Loman since he first set eyes on the prickly schoolteacher. Even as she thwarts his advances, he sees the desire burning in her eyes. Offering to help her find her father, he hopes to prove he’s not going anywhere.

Captured by outlaws, they soon realize how much they're willing to sacrifice for the other.

Suggested reading age 18+ because of adult situations and steamy love scenes.

4.0 out of 5 stars Outlaw in Petticoats December 1, 2008
Good read. Not my favorite of Paty Jager's books but still likable. It lacked the depth of her previous novels. Although I still recommend everyone to read it. Especially if you are keeping track of the Halsey brother seiries this is part of. The last half of the book was excellent. And it is a fairly quick read. One that you could curl up next to the fire and finish easily in an afternoon.

4.0 out of 5 stars Outlaw in Petticoats May 12, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This was an interesting concept as are all the Halsey brothers' books. I like the characters, they are very real and easy to accept in their roles. I would give this a 5 star except I really don't care for the explicit sex---It takes away from the story for me. I do understand this generation is into all that but I just skip over it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Outlaw in Petticoats November 8, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
I really enjoyed this second installment in the Halsey Brothers series. It was fast paced, full of action and unexpected twists.

The only thing that disappointed me was at times the characters seemed to make really stupid decisions that didn't live up to their intelligence and seemed out of character.

I enjoy reading books with strong female characters/heroines and this series does not disappoint!

Outlaw in Petticoats was difficult to put down. The story kept moving in unexpected directions. It was also quite different from the others in the series. A delightful and heart warming story filled with adventure, romance and a touch of humor.

I really enjoyed this book, of course the f & C words to me were not necessary. But over all I really got into the story. I'm looking forward to reading more in this series.

5.0 out of 5 stars LOVE, LOVE, LOVE THE BOOK!!! February 10, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
You would have to read all the Halsey series books to understand everything. Trust me you will love all the books in the series. This one will make you laugh and will let you see that women can be delicate but at the same time strong, not taking crap from no one. You will love it. Enjoy it.

It was a great read, even if it was bit unrealistic. The characters call out to you and you feel a kinship with having their problems work out.
