The Outlaw's Lady, May 25, 2011
Good, original storyline to be kidnapped to take pictures of a notorious bandit. I enjoyed the story but felt a few things could have been improved upon. I felt that Tess believed Sandoval a little too quickly when he revealed who he really was. If someone had kidnapped me, I think I would have been a bit more skeptical about believing anything they told me in the future until some trust could be built in the relationship. Also, the romance was a bit dry and rushed.

The Outlaw's Lady ~ a Story with Great Plot Twists, September 29, 2009
This review is from: The Outlaw's Lady (Love Inspired Historical) (Mass Market Paperback)
Tess Hennessey, an accomplished young photographer, strives to earn enough money to study her craft with a famous studio in New York, something most women wouldn't consider doing in the 1880s. On her way home from a successful shoot at her uncle's ranch in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas, she is accosted and kidnapped by a gang of Mexican banditos. And the mastermind behind the scheme? The attractive Sandoval Parrish, a man she meets at the gathering who is reputed to befriend Diego Delgado, the notorious leader of the ruthless outlaws.
Before he met Tess, Sandoval's plot was simple: avenge his sister's ruin that Delgado caused by forcing Tess to photograph Delgado under the ruse of documenting his exploits. Then send the negatives to a Texas Ranger to get them printed on wanted posters all over southern Texas and Mexico in the hopes of capturing the wretch. But when Sandoval is attracted to Tess, Delgado views her as his private property, and Delgado's vicious sister wants her dead, Sandoval must protect her against increasingly dangerous episodes that threaten both of their lives.
I enjoyed the plot twists and characters in The Outlaw's Lady. The hero's and heroine's renewed trust in God, laying down their own goals for each other--especially during difficult times, the caring bad guy and his mother, even the suave dictator and his evil sibling--though I wanted to choke them. I gladly recommend The Outlaw's Lady and look forward to Laurie Kingery's future stories.
