Format: Kindle Edition
Mr. Gurevich does a superb job weaving together his experiences of founding several start-ups, interacting with students and mentors of diverse backgrounds, achieving academic success at a prestigious university, and finding self-fulfillment as the "Renaissance Man." Through the author's personal anecdotes, the reader picks up hints and clues on how to be successful in business (i.e. story on effectively networking with high profile individuals, in particular with a well-known financier) and in life (i.e. chapter on presenting himself--be it to 3 or 3000 people).

The result is beautiful: Gurevich shows--not tells--the reader the intricacies of everyday obstacles, potential encounters with people or problems, and, most importantly, his solutions to them via his easy-to-read yet richly composed chapters. You'll finish the book with a sense of reinforced confidence and excitement for uncertainty, thanks to Gurevich's subtle messages embedded in every passage. The Life Mover is a must-read. It's for the decisive, the indecisive, the successful, the aspirer, the student, the mentor, the Mom or Dad, who simply wishes to "re-view" his/her life through a greater, more open perspective.

Gurevich has done it again, but now on a grander scale. Bravo. Again, truly a must-read!

2 of 3 people found the following review helpful By Jane Richie on February 20, 2011
Format: Kindle Edition
I am an owner of a small business; to make my business grow and to be successful, I am always looking for good advice. I have a lot of professional experience, but I lack in knowledge in some areas.

I have had a great time reading this book! I like the author's way of bringing his own life into his writing. It's very personal, which makes it fascinating. It's similar to having a conversation with a good friend. I especially enjoyed and learned a lot from the chapter 'How Sony learned people buy emotionally'. It never occurred to me that people buy things based on their emotions, not necessary based on logic. Having a degree in mathematics, I tend to think logically. That chapter was a real eye opener for me.

Get a copy of this book - it's like reading a detective story, or a page turner, but also incredibly informative.

The author not only does an amazing job at inspiring the reader to achieve one's goals, both professionally and personally, but does so in a beautiful and easy to read way, which is often witty, by using stories as well as case studies.

Students, young professionals, entrepreneurs and even others who might have a little trepidation about starting their own business must read this book!! As it provides a virtual "how to" as far as getting started in one's professional career.
