This book is boring.
on March 4, 2014
I bought this book in Spanish to practice my reading in Spanish but I could barely read it. ZZZZzzzz.
The book was highly recommended by others so I gave it a try but no thank you. It just did not capture my interest.
The book overemphasized lots of examples (for example the date when a hockey player is born determines his success.) These little facts may be true or may not be true (rice and mathematics are related??? I don't think so.) but they are super boring and unimportant.
I was amazed to see the author on 60 Minutes, making tons of money giving speeches, etc. when one of his so called Master Works was this boring.
I also couldn't believe that about 10% of the book was where he lists his source references. I mean the book was boring. Do I really want to follow up on all those insignificant factoids about why some people are more successful?
On the positive side, I appreciate that most of his books are published in Spanish for learners like myself. That is the only reason I bought the book. I really recommend buying something different by a different author.
