Excellent system to manage the job networking process,
By Don McKee (Pennsylvania) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Outplace Yourself: Secrets of an Executive Outplacement Counselor (Paperback)
This book is an excellent system for developing a detailed plan to network and find a job. I used the first edition to develop and implement a networking plan that generated 74 interviews over a 5 week period, received 5 job offers, made several new career friends and got the job I was looking for. The book is excellent for finding ways to keep from getting "stuck" in the networking process. Get the book FOLLOW THE SYSTEM and you will get excellent results. Many books talk about networking in general but this book covers the process in EXTENSIVE detail with sample scripts, processes, plan development and tools to make sure each contact expands to at least 3 more (so you do not fillow up on 3 contacts and wind-up with 3 dead ends). I personally was uncomfortable with the "networking" idea, but forced myself to follow the system and became a real believer in this tactical process for landing the job you want!
