Before I read the Garfield comic books I couldn't stand regular comic books. But now I can't wait for the next one "Attack of the Lethal Lizards." The first one was so good, and the second, and the third, and the fourth! I collect all kinds of Garfield stuff! I love you Garfield and friends!!

Despite the fact it's a kid's book, it's got a great variety of vocabulary, some pretty good Marvel-style illustrations with its dramatic shadowing, and a dishing out of some real witty humor that an adult would doubtlessly enjoy. It's a funny portrayal of the science-fiction pulp tale based on Garfield's fantasy about being a comic-book superhero. It takes place when Vetvix, a femme fatale nemesis of the gallant Pet Force decides to take over the whole universe, so she sets out to destroy the heroic company altogether. And the veterinarian vixen also has some evil plots up her silky sleeve: she sends an overweight rat out to eat all the food in the whole universe, so all the innocent victims on each planet would starve. So it's Garfield & Friends To The Rescue! A very amusing and rollicking space ride and role-playing with your most favorite Garfield characters!

I read this book aloud to my boys. My 9 year old liked it much better than my 13 year old. I thought the story was okay, but I did not enjoy reading it out loud at all (too much repeating of silly, tongue-tripping names of places and spaceships). On the plus side, most of the chapters had 1-2 lively one-page illustrations.

I only knew about these books from my brother, who had them and abandoned them. I needed something to read, so i picked up the copy of The Outrageous Origin: Garfield's Pet Force, Book 1 from my bro's room. The second I read the first page, I couldn't set it down! Although I've only read this one and Pie-Rat's revenge, I love them both, and I'm itching to get the other 2 books! In other words, great book, and GREAT series!

These books are defintly the best! I have read the first to and am waiting for the 3rd and 4th to come in. The first isn't the best-don't get me wrong-but it is basically just a set up for the rest of the series. Yes, i still like this one, but i think the second one is better. The series is funny even if you aren't a big fan of Garfield. Even if you've only read Garfield once and met the characters, you will get a big laugh out of this comedy/sci fi/fantasy book...it is great...

Garfield is at a backyard BBQ with his friends trading insults and reading comics.When in a parrellele univeres the pet force is being threatened by an evil vetrinarian(Vetix)and her #1 man(space pie rat).So anyways she catches the pet force and strips them of their powers and sends them to a ghostly deminsion(they aren't dead,just cut of from human contact).Then Garfield,Nermal,Arlene,Odie,and pooky are summond to bring peace into emperor jon's univerese(not Jon emperor Jon).Then they battle pie rat and vetvix in triuhmp but the forces of humor and evil will return.This book is packed with action Humor and mixed animals so hold on to yur body parts,it's a tough galaxy.

This is one of the best Garfield books ever. It has a lot of action and it is very funny as well. I'm waiting for the next book in the series to come out. I really liked all of the characters in this book. I think it's the start of a very good series of books.

I think this book is good for just about all readers. It's hilarious

I am still the same kid who wrote reviews on all three books. This one was the best because it was original.The new jokes were cool.I especially liked the part when Garfiel started to bad-mouth the emporoer.It was the best.
