Product Description

Amazon.com Product Description

Whether it's a roast for a dinner party or a turkey for the holidays, this digital cooking thermometer ensures meat gets cooked to perfection. It provides two probes, which make it possible to cook and grill different types of meat--or monitor two levels of doneness--at the same time. Simply insert the probe into the meat, run the wire out of the barbeque or oven, close the lid or oven door, and attach the probe to the base unit. The programmable thermometer offers 10 meat settings and four doneness settings, ranging from rare to well done. The unit's large LCD screen displays the inner temperature of food during cooking, and an alarm will sound after it reaches the desired temperature. Best of all, the thermometer comes with a clip-on receiver with an alert signal that works from up to 120 feet away, so there's no need to feel stuck in the kitchen during a party. The digital meat thermometer measures 3 by 7-1/4 by 8-3/4 inches.

Product Description

This digital cooking thermometer with two probes cooks meats according to your taste level - from rare to well done - without the guesswork. The clip-on receiver device lets you monitor your cooking from up to 120 feet away and will alert you when your meat is done cooking. Simply insert a probe into your meat and attach the probe to the base unit located outside the oven or barbecue; two probes allow two different types of meat (or two levels of doneness) to be monitored at the same time. Program the base unit with the type of meat and desired level of doneness; the large LCD readout displays the inner temperature of the food during cooking and an alarm sounds when the inner temperature is met. The base transits information to a remote unit, allowing the temperature to be monitored from inside the house or away from the kitchen. The thermometer is pre-programmed with 4 doneness settings and 10 meat settings.

1.0 out of 5 stars Great promise, terrible results, September 4, 2009
This review is from: Outset F820 Digital 2-Probe Meat Thermometer with Receiver (Lawn & Patio)
I bought this product on sale from a company that was going out of business.

From the beginning there was trouble. The remote receiver didn't ever work.

It took about a week before one of the temperature probes failed giving an "HHH" reading.

Then about a month later the other temperature probe failed in the same way.

Being able to dial in a type of meet and then pick the amount of doneness sounds great but you could just write down the settings. Most temperatures are the same for anything other than well done.

I like the idea of barbecuing with a thermometer but this one is a piece of junk.

5.0 out of 5 stars great thermometer, September 18, 2011
This review is from: Outset F820 Digital 2-Probe Meat Thermometer with Receiver (Lawn & Patio)
I have used this model for about 3 years or more, it has always worked great. It has been in the rain, dropped, and still works... I use it mainly for smoking meats and wouldn't be without it... I set the probes in the meat, take the receiver inside and it beeps when the meat gets with in 10 degrees of setting.. I may have to order another one soon, as I dropped it again and broke the receiver, It still appears to work though... very good product from my stand point...
