The reviews ARE true! This read that WILL leave you smiling!,
This review is from: From the Outside (Harlequin NASCAR) (Kindle Edition)
I'm VERY hard to please when it comes to romance novels. Most are too contrived and too cheesy (I know, the formula for romance novels but some are too much). BUT From the Outside is NONE of those things. As a reader, I KNOW it's difficult to trust books with overwhelmingly positive reviews (trust me, I'm that reader too), but as that reader believe me when I say this one is actually legit.
Is the bad boy really as bad as the magazines say? Is the good girl really a closeted bad girl? So many twists and turns in this book make it the MUST READ of any avid romance novel reader. Roberto Castillo is NASCAR's newest star but perpetual bad boy/playboy...as told by the media. After being ordered to clean up his image or else, his agent crafts a few guest cameos on a popular racing soap opera playing opposite America's Sweetheart soap star turned movie actress Mallory Dalton. Mallory is finally ready to shed her good girl, wholesome image which has never felt like her. After signing the contract, Mallory and Roberto agree to a publicity romance to spice up her image while helping him appear to be tamed by the good girl. As Roberto and Mallory grow closer in their arrangement they learn interesting things about each other but the whole story is more of a story of growth for Mallory as she discovers who she's really meant to be. And a surprising twist that shocks everyone and turns Mallory's world upside down but is really what rights what she's felt was wrong all along. If you want an EXCELLENT read and a fun love story where you absolutely love the male lead and the female lead the pick up From the Outside.

I am not an avid NASCAR fan - but I still love this G-rated sports romance. This is an old story Playboy athletic fake a relationship with soap star and real romance blooms but because the writing is great and twists of the characters makes for fun read. Off to read her previous book Peak Performance (Harlequin Nascar).
If you enjoy this genre I would also suggest; Power Play (Berkley Sensation), On The Move (Harlequin Nascar), On the Edge and Double Play.

Roberto Castillo has dominated Indy car racing for years; now he wants to make his mark in NASCAR. But Roberto's playboy image doesn't suit his new sponsors. NASCAR's a family-friendly sport, and it doesn't seem to matter that he's left his bad habits behind. The world sees what it expects to see.
Roberto's agent arranges some appearances on the soap opera Racing Hearts ... and a fake romance with the show's star, Mallory Dalton. Mallory's known as America's sweetheart. If the public thinks she's tamed the bad boy, maybe they'll forgive his tabloid past. Good girl Mallory has her own reasons for going along with the stunt. She wants to stretch her wings as an actress, and that sweetheart image is only getting in the way. A brief romance with the Argentinian bad boy--even a fake one--is just what she needs to make the world start thinking of her in a whole new way. But Mallory finds a sizzling chemistry with her new leading man. He's not the arrogant playboy she expected. When a long-kept secret is revealed, her world is turned upside-down. Can she rely on Roberto to help her find the way home? Author Brenna has fun with this delightful story, but deeper themes abound. On the surface, Mallory and Roberto are polar opposites. Underneath, however, the similarities run deep. Family secrets and early success have prevented both Mallory and Roberto from finding their true selves; love is the force that draws them forward. Brenna gives us a convincing portrait of a bad boy hero and a small-town girl who learn to trust their hearts. |
