By A Customer
This review is from: Outside Lobbying (Paperback)
Kollman has written a path-breaking analysis of one of the newest tools in the interest group lobbying kit -- mobilizing grassroots support to pressure legislative action. Using the tools of modern political science, Kollman has put together a solid analysis and has produced what will become a classic in the literature on interest group politics.

A little out of touch., June 23, 2003
This review is from: Outside Lobbying (Paperback)
This book is a good text for grad students and professors in political science. Others, however, will find this book sadly detached from reality. Those others (or who have a real life) will find other treatments of interest group lobbying far more useful. The model presented by the author is somewhat unclear and misdirected. The model does not capture the full range of motivations underlying grassroots lobbying.
