This disc contains Little Anthony's first album on his new label, including the title tune "On The Outside Looking In". Of special note is a cut called "Make It Easy On Yourself" (not the song you're thinking of). This was on the flip side of the original singles and appears nowhere else. The second LP included on this disc is a waste of the group's talent even though I'm a fan of producer Teddy Randazzo.

It is interesting how BGO Records chose Little Anthony and the Imperials 1st and 4th albums on DCP for a twofer package. It is a good thing that this particular music has been re released. Little Anthony and the Imperials were one of the most important doo wop groups to come out of the 50's. It is a miracle that virtually all members are still living and performing. 'On The Outside Looking In,' being the 1st corroboration of Don Costa and Teddy Randazzo with the Imperials, they did not use a large orchestra but only a small combo for most of the 1st 12 songs of this twofer. One can hear the smooth, intimate harmonies of the group who did an excellent job within the musical arrangements with hints of things to come. By the time the listener gets to 'Reflections", a soulful tour de force takes shape. The songs, the orchestrations, the singers take you to shangi la. All of the music is in STEREO too. This is some of the most beautiful music ever to come out of the 60's. Teddy Randazzo made this world a much better place.

It's good to see the long forgotten (or maybe not remembered),music of Anthony and Randozo. I was in the "Nam" when the 'Reflections album hit the shelves of the PX. Hoping to get a taste of home I purchased the album and was shocked by its Warwick/Bacharach tone and quality. 'My love is a rainbow" and the rendition of "A Thousand Miles Away", was a joyful musical experience.

Little Anthony did't score to many hits after 'Goin out of my head',
but they put out some really top notch lps that were over looked.
This 2fr is well worth the money. I only wish that they would
release'On a new street' on cd by them, as well as their
complete Thom Bell Linda Creed sessions.
