I had read quite a few "Outsiders" graphic novels and I enjoyed each and every one of them.And that was the sole reason for me to buy this book. But , boy, was I disappointed!!
There is absolutely no story-development. For some reasons, Batman disbands the original team and puts all current members through a test to judge whether they qualify to be in the new team or not. So, each story is this collection is like a test for the outsiders. Except the last story (which is like a lead-up to "JLA:Salvation Run" ), which is OK, the rest are somehow not entertaining. And the art is just AWFUL!
So , my sincere request to potential readers of this book is: DON'T buy this book! If you are still keen on reading, just borrow it, from a Library, friend, whatever. There are MUCH better graphic novels out there. This book is ONLY for the die-hard "Outsiders" fans who want to collect all the "Outsiders" stories ever printed..and I'm sure even they'll be disappointed.

Loved it.

This book collects five one-shot style team up stories. Nightwing & Captain Boomerang Jr., Katana & Shazam, Thunder & Martian Manhunter, Metamorpho & Aquaman, and Grace & Wonderwoman. Then the book finales with Outsiders #50. Each story is by a different writer, and each one is great. Also, every story features a different artistic team and really showcases some great talent.

By the end of the book much has been revealed, and you're excited for what lays ahead for Batman's new "Outsiders". I certainly won't give anything away (I hate that) but by the finale I was shocked at least a few times.

Obviously if you haven't been following this series there's really no point in buying this book, but if you have, or just want to remember what's good about super-team comics, don't go without all the Judd Winick Outsiders stories.
