Powerful, practical, and timely are the three words I'd use to describe the essence of material discussed in "Outsmart Your Brain---How to Make Success FEEL Easy", by Marcia Reynolds. After you read this intelligent book, you might consider replacing the mantra, "Change your thoughts, change your behavior," for "Shift your emotions, take charge of your life." ~ Reviewed by GeorgeAnne Smith for Reader Views

From the Back Cover

"Outsmart Your Brain is an inspiring, illuminating guide that will expand your inner freedom and open the door to healthier, happier relationships. This book reveals the missing link to making your dreams come true."
--Micheal J. Gelb, author of How to Think Like Leonardo daVinci and More Balls than Hands: Juggling Your Way to Success by Learning to Love Your Mistakes

"The middle brain is like a genie in a bottle, anxiously awaiting our command to take mastery over our thoughts, feelings and actions. Outsmart Your Brain lays out an effective blueprint for unleashing and training this genie to guide us forward to succeed in the healthy goals that we set out to accomplish." Michael D. Hirsch, PhD, neuroscientist

"Change your thoughts, you change your behavior" has long been the mantra for the personal growth movement. Everywhere we turn, from our families, friends and bosses to advertisements and pop psychologists, we hear the command, "Just do it." Yet no matter how hard we try, we can't seem to stop the negative mental chatter that leads to needless arguing, tension, frustration, and eventually a numbing process that restricts access to our joy and passion.

What is the reason we can't stop the noise? We are under the spell of our over-protective brains.

To feel more energy, stimulate creativity, increase persuasive powers and live healthier, more joyful lives, you have to wage war against your brain. Once you know how your brain works, you can harness the processes and consciously choose how you want to feel and act. Knowing how to shift emotional states at will is the most important factor in achieving success and happiness.

Outsmart Your Brain! is full of exercises, examples and guidelines that teach you how to tap into your hidden mental powers to make better decisions and influence those around you to create the results you desire.

This book, unlike so many others I've read on the same subject, gets to the points quickly, explains them clearly and concisely and doesn't contain "filler" to wade through. It is a quick read that I refer to often. I recommend it to anyone who is trying to manage the "racket, chatter, monkey brain" going on inside their mind. It will help for certain.

Powerful, practical, and timely are the three words I'd use to describe the essence of material discussed in "Outsmart Your Brain---How to Make Success FEEL Easy", by Marcia Reynolds. After you read this intelligent book, you might consider replacing the mantra, "Change your thoughts, change your behavior," for "Shift your emotions, take charge of your life."

This insightful book, "Outsmart Your Brain", will train you how to access the emotional intelligence your own brain protects you from experiencing. Chapter Two asks the question, "Do you have what it takes?" and guides you through the steps to being emotionally intelligent by building a personal foundation, all important to seizing, or regaining control of your personal or business life. Author, Marcia Reynolds, also includes three detailed Appendix sections. Appendix A, "Name That Emotion," helps you become familiar with your different emotional states. Appendix B, is a "Self-Care Checklist," how the effects of stress lower your stamina, and daily exercises to raise it. The third, Appendix C, is the "Resiliency Rate" assessment which judges how quickly you emotionally rebound from frustrations or let downs.

One of my favorite phrases from"Outsmart Your Brain---How to Make Success FEEL Easy", is on page 59, "Relax, Center, and Focus to see the world in a whole new light." Marcia Reynolds illuminating book educates the reader how to eliminate the mental stumbling blocks that may hinder you from personal, or business success.

This book is a great informational guide to understanding the brain and that is actually a "middle brain" that can take mastery over our thoughts and help us to outsmart our brains by being creative and avoid any negativity around us in order to unleash goals we, otherwise, would not have accomplished.

This is a must-read, especially for anyone in business!
