Book Description

There probably couldn't be a more appropriate time to disseminate this book’s economic solutions. Outsourcing Through RentACoder, called "required reading" by RentACoder CEO Ian Ippolito, is about outsourcing through the site and saving the economy all in one.

RentACoder isn’t just a freelance job site. It’s a venue where American employers can hire out work right here in the U.S. This book explains the why and how with chapters on bringing RentACoder into the workplace, checklists, worksheets, an extensive outsourcing roadmap, and more.

Editorial Reviews

Review

Outsourcing can be an incredible way to maximize your business and personal effectiveness. But newcomers often feel a bit jitterish at the thought of jumping in. Outsourcing through Rent a Coder provides these people with a thorough and approachable way to meet their objectives successfully, safely and efficiently.

Nicole Miller's many experiences as both a buyer and seller on the site, enable her to provide numerous invaluable techniques to overcome common pitfalls and maximize the site to their advantage. It's required reading for anyone who is considering taking the plunge into outsourcing, or is currently outsourcing and would like to improve their results.

I just finished reading Outsourcing Through Rentacoder cover-to-cover. As a Rentacoder buyer since 2005, I had no idea how much I didn't know! Thanks for teaching outsourcing buyers how to minimize risk, place the best possible work orders and see things from a coder's perspective all of which are invaluable.

I agree with Mr. Ippolito; your book is Required Reading for anyone using Rentacoder for their outsourcing needs. I'm kicking myself for not buying your book sooner! I'm never offshoring any writing job ever, ever again (per your advice). You are helping our economy one RAC buyer at a time! Now that's something to smile about.

Sincerely, Ronnie

5.0 out of 5 stars Explains oursourcing extremely well April 4, 2011
Format:Paperback
Outsourcing RentACoder was not what I expected but it turned out to be better than I'd hoped.

I just needed some information about how best to get a couple of coders for an HTML job we needed and I learned all about the benefits of RentACoder as well as some of the more important aspects of what we need to get the most out of our outsourcing. Not only does the guide give you a background of what you need to look for, but it also helps you define the job parameters so you don't over- or underbuy your staff. In addition, the details of RentACoder were new to us and our current job is being done exactly the way Outsourcing RentACoder describes... using RentACoder of course.

This guide has a lot of value. We highly recommend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars The How-To Guide We Needed April 3, 2011
Format:Paperback
I was so grateful for Outsourcing Through RentACoder.

We often have programming jobs we need but they are not consistent. We have a big project that we need done and then for 4 months we have no need for programming. That is why it's a waste of our resources to have a full-time coder on staff. And we have used eLance and the want ads and the temp agencies but we never had a good handle on things. We don't care for a lot of the options we used in the past because we do prefer to hire Americans to do our work. We realize other places have great coders but in these economic times we want to help boost our own economy as much as possible.

Now for the details - Outsourcing RentACoder - is chocked full of details. Right out of the box, the book explains how small companies such as ours benefit so greatly from RentACoder. The guide helped confirm that what we thought we needed was accurate. We got a great overview of the industry and what questions we need to ask to get our job done properly and efficiently. With that background the rest of the book taught us all the details about RentACoder customers, what software we need to make the best connection as a client of RentACoder, and how we can maximize our RentACoder jobs to make the best use of them. I wrote this review because I want others in my position to know what we gained from RentACoder. I think others will begin to leave the overseas coding firms and make better use of the American coders we have here who need the job and in MY opinion, understand more quickly what needs we all have since they are right here in the same culture we are.
