5.0 out of 5 stars Creative Ideas May 26, 2009
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
I wont' be doing much full-blown scrapbooking, preferring rather to craft cards and mini albums. This book provided a lot of innovative ideas, colorful and attractive. I have several marked which I plan to make as the need for albums arises. I would recommend to anyone interested in making mini albums, and there are also several take-aways for any paper crafter looking for techniques for card making, etc.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Balanced Review October 25, 2010
Format:Paperback
There are so many tutorials online from You Tube that provide instructions for mini scrapbook albums so I hesitated to invest in this book. The reason why I went for it is because its very handy to have written instructions you can highlight, add notes to, refer to while you are making a project without having to have your computer next to you to keep referring to a video. Its very complimentary to what you see online with the added support of having step by step written instructions. I wasn't super crazy about the aesthetics of the finished mini's, however some of them I really loved. I didn't buy the book for design inspiration, I bought it for the fundamentals in construction techniques. However, I have to say, the instructions are not as detailed as they could be for a beginner. I was debating between this book and "How to Make Books" by Esther Smith and I ended up feeling that I needed both - each one compliments the other and provides a good foundation of the fundamentals.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing Inspiration April 3, 2010
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
If you're anything like me, you sometimes hit a creativity lull. No matter how hard you try, you can't think of new ways to scrap your pictures. This book can open the door to a whole new aspect of scrapbooking. The author shows how she fell in love with mini albums and how you can too. She has amazing ideas, things you'd never even think of, and step-by-step instructions on how to make each one. I especially liked the Starbucks Coffee Cup album. What a cute idea! I really recommend this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars scrapbooking August 5, 2009
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
I originally checked this book out at the library and then wanted to purchase it and I did and this book has got to be the best book if you want to do all different types of scrapbooks. I wanted to try the lunch bag one, my friend got one as a gift from her baby shower...I will definitely be using this book a lot as the directions for each item is so easy to read and things you have on hand and can recycle into something so nice for someone. You have to get this book! Easy to read and follow along w/each description of the finished product! I gave it 5 stars...thanks!

3.0 out of 5 stars Good but could be better January 29, 2013
By emma
Format:Paperback
I saw this book at my local craft store and it indeed has some nice ideas. Amazon is actually cheaper (if you have free shipping) than using a 50% coupon at the store.

As another reviewer mentioned, however, it could be a lot more detailed with additional pictures. I have a lot of crafting experience and was able to work through it, but I could see a lot of expensive paper and supplies being wasted before a newbie figured their way through some of these instructions. I would suggest to practice with scrap materials or notebook paper first.

On one project in particular (the matchbook), it seemed that steps at the end were out-and-out missing such as attaching cardstock / a photo to the top section. The final project's picture also used different cardstock / paper than the instructions. Another project also used different materials in the instructions than in the finished project pictured.

All in all, a nice book for ideas but be careful that you walk your way through the instructions first before starting. The book also includes copyable templates. You can search the Internet for free templates that can be downloaded and sent straight to your printer onto cardstock but this was a nice touch. She also gives tips on using materials such as CDs, records, etc. for projects. This book was mentioned in last week's Women's World so it is a popular book.

5.0 out of 5 stars What a fun book! April 12, 2011
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
This is such a fun book. There are so many different types of fun mini-albums that can be made by young and old. I have made the CD case album and the paper bag album and both turned out so cute. The instructions, along with the pictures, are easy to follow. I can't wait to make more of the mini-books.

3.0 out of 5 stars It's OK
This book is OK, but not as good as I was hoping it would be. Don't buy for new price! This will probably be one that sits in my collection & rarely gets looked at.
