5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome
This book has everything you need to perform. Monologs (good ones, which are very hard to come by), duets, group scenes, EVERYTHING! All of them are either award winning plays or excerpts from them. Each different performance has an intro to it that gives information like: what the stage sould look like, what awards the play one, what other plays the playwright wrote and...

2.0 out of 5 stars Nothing special.
First of all, I can't see how this book can come off saying it's for students. A big hunk of the monologues are NOT age appropriate. They're for older women, looking back on their lives. First of all, I can't see how this book can come off saying it's for students. A big hunk of the monologues are NOT age appropriate. They're for older women, looking back on their lives. It is important to know your range - and I'm sorry, but college students just aren't in their 60s for the most part! We don't have the life experience to give honesty to these roles. Also, a huge chunk of the monologues for women are story telling, another thing you should try to avoid in monologues.

I do NOT recommend this book to any college women who are looking for something to use at auditions.

Each different performance has an intro to it that gives information like: what the stage sould look like, what awards the play one, what other plays the playwright wrote and where the play was performed. The only problem is that the monologs are too short for the contests I enter. Does anyone know of any books that have 5 to 7 minute monologs? Thanks!
