I needed to replace my previous gravity recliner and narrowed down the list of choices on Amazon to three that advertised padded armrests. I've learned from past experience that unpadded plastic armrests are hard on the elbows when, for example, reading a book. The seller's product description says "Armrests are padded and contoured to fit the shape of your arm and adjust to every move of the seat.". But, the armrests are NOT padded. (The seller has since changed the description after my complaint)

PROS:
- The chair is comfortable, but all gravity recliners with the bungee cord design are comfortable.
- Attractive and sturdy.

CONS:
- Armrests are hard plastic.
- It's a bit narrow. If you are a large person, you will find this a tight fit. The recliner is advertised as being able to hold up to 350 lbs, so apparently if you are heavy, you also need to somehow be thin.
- Though the pictures of the product don't show this, when the recliner is in a sitting position, the seat never reaches horizontal. The severe tilt of the seat will make it difficult for shorter people to get in and out of the chair.
- Range of motion is smaller than most gravity recliners. My previous recliner allowed me to recline almost horizontal.

The chair frame and mesh are very sturdy, well made. Unfolded right out of the box, ready to use. Lightweight but appears built to last. I am 5'5" and it is just long enough for me, even my feet overhang just slightly. Not sure how well this would work for someone much taller. I use the pillow for lumbar support. Very comfortable, highly recommend.
...6/07/13 Have had the chair for a while now. It has formed rust wherever the loops supporting the material are soldered to the frame, actually started rusting after the first couple of rains. Will try using Coke to remove the rust and then apply a water resistant seal. If the Coke doesn't work will purchase a rust remover. The last patio furniture set I had lasted about 10 years, I didn't realize the material would slowly deteriorate if left uncovered in the sun (that furniture did not rust but was quite a bit more expensive). I started covering the Zero Gravity chair each day to protect it. But it is so much easier to just fold it up and move it into the house when not using it. That will protect the material and prevent rust. Still very comfortable. Last furniture I had was a swinging loveseat and a swivel rocker. I was always moving a chair or end table to put my feet on. The Zero Gravity chair is much nicer as I can immediately get to whichever comfortable position I like without having to move other furniture around.

So the box came and I opened it up, the chair is shipped fully assembled and folded up inside a plastic bag inside a cardboard box. I pulled out the chair, took off the plastic bag and unfolded the chair. I stretched it out in my living room. I am 6'2" and I am right near the max load for the chair. I sat down, and laid back, it didn't creak or make noises it just went back smoothly. When you're on your back it's a nice relaxing position.

The armrests are small, your arms don't really rest on them, I found the best position for me was to lay back with my arms resting on my chest, that may not be for everyone. The armrests are most useful for grabbing onto something when you want to sit up, you pull with your arms and push down with your feet at the same time to get back to sitting up straight. In the week we have had the chair we've only used it indoors due to the weather, but I think this will spend some time on my deck, and in my back yard in the spring and fall.

I also like that it folds up so well for storage.

Everyone who sits in this chair loves it! You could easily fall asleep in it. It reclines quite far back and you have to use your feet to help you move the chair up and down. So if you are short and your feet won't reach the bar at the bottom front, you may have some difficulty.

These are nice chairs and a great value. I have back problems and sometimes sit on one just to ease the stress and pain. I would normally be suspect of such a statement if I were reading ratings, but it is true that if is the most comfortable and gives me relieve.

Couldn't have asked for a better chair. As a reflexologist, it definitely serves it's purpose quite well. I highly recommend it, it's very light and it is perfect for fitting in a trunk to bring to appointments. Make sure the switch is set to lock in place, wouldn't want any one to fall back accidentally.

i loved my strathmore anti gravity chairs but they finally rusted and broke. i bought these because they had a bigger weight limit. however, they do not go as far back and maybe only 75% of what the strathmore goes back. that last 25% is what makes them so comfortable. i guess i will be returning these. they are fine if you don't want to get your feet up high.
