I love this new album... contrary to the previous review!, April 22, 2000

I feel they are a constantly changing and EVOLVING band! Who wants to listen to the same thing over and over? Not me! Give it a chance, at first I thought, 'hmmmm!, very different than the last album'. Four songs hooked me right away, and I had to listen to the rest of the album a few times before I could fully appreciate the range of style and genius of this band's work. Give it a chance and I think you will agree. 'No Sad Story', 'Pakistani Man Says', and 'Fire in the Pit' are hard-core rockin'. While 'Hawaiin Dreams' is the perfect song to kick back and just daydream to. I have been tired of listening to the same types of music over and over for the last couple of years, these guys are fresh and just what music needed, it's soul back!

The Flys have an original sound that can't be equaled. I actually look forward to sitting in traffic as long as The Flys are on my CD player!

Another great one from the Flys..., March 6, 2001
This review is from: Outta My Way (Audio CD)
Overall, this is a great CD. There are one or two songs I don't like very much, but the good outweights the bad in this case. 'No Sad Story,' 'Helluva Time,' 'Losin It,' and 'Fire In the Pit' are some of my top choices.
The previous reviewer mentioned a few songs as being "Hard-core." By definition, this isn't exactly hardcore. If you're not familiar with the Flys' music, then don't buy this expecting to hear screaming and heavy guitar riffs - this isn't that type of hardcore.
Overall, this is a good CD, and I recommend it. In my opinion it isn't quite as good as the Flys' previous release, 'Holiday Man,' but it's still good nevertheless.
