This vest is a good fit for our 55-pound dog. She can move about easily and is comfortable while wearing the vest. We added a salt water-activated light to both our dogs' vests.

I got this vest for my 45 pound lab mix and the fit is OK as a size large. It goes on and comes off quickly and the handle on the back is a nice feature.

I've used it maybe a couple dozen times over one season in the water and also as insulation for cold weather walks in rain and snow over one winter.

The problem is that the stitching is marginal and I ended up having to re-sew the velcro patch stitching along the chest portion and also near the anchor points for the straps. Over time, one of the plastic clips broke as well.

Good design but needs better stitching and components.

ADDENDUM 5/21/11: I contacted the manufacturer and they replaced the vest for free. The also said they're constantly trying to improve their products and appreciate feedback.

I bought this Life Jacket 'cause it look comfortable... well, unlike sweatshirts, jackets, or rain coats, my dog does not want to rip it off her skin. Truly recommend.
