Product Description

The Cross Slider contains a rubber ball that holds and dispenses treats. Drop the Hide-A-Treat treat ball into the top hole of the slider base then encourage your dog to retrieve it. By sliding the base on the floor, dogs are able to move the ball around inside. The goal is to free the ball through one of the tunnels. Once free, the ball dispenses treats naturally throughout play. Refill and re-insert the ball to repeat the fun. Initially, all four doors can be left off the base, allowing four tunnels through which the ball can exit. For increased difficulty, up to three doors (included) can be added, leaving only one tunnel open to free the ball. The Cross Slider works great with tennis balls too.

I purchased this item for my 6 month old (57 pound) German Shepherd. Once she started playing with the toy, the doors on the other three sides broke. Would not recommend item.

Don't waste your money!
Bought this for my very bright golden retriever puppy. The device will only slide on a completely flat and smooth surface, so our tile and carpet home doesn't work (would have been nice to know this). Took our dog to a friend's house with smooth floors. Neither my dog nor my friends' dog were at all engaged. Treats don't come out of the cute openings very well, so not much incentive to play with the toy. Furthermore, the little edges on the sides (for securing the optional doors) make it hard to get the ball out at all unless the dog actually picks up the toy out of frustration, which mine finally did.
Needless to say, I don't recommend this toy, and wish I had not wasted my money.

We have a 100 lbs. Chocolate Lab and I wasn't sure the Cross Slider would hold up to his strength, but it did. Our lab loves playing with this toy. He has to figure out how to get the ball out of the tubes. The only part I didn't like was the ball, we put treats inside of it and couldn't get them out.

I have several different puzzle type games for my two cocker spaniels. They all require treats to motivate the dog. Our male is 8 y/o and loves balls. Instead of using treats in this, I use the small babble balls. He loves those things because they are motion activated and they "talk" to him, and that motivates him to work the puzzle to get the ball out.

My dog loves this toy. The only reason it is getting 3 stars is because the end caps will not stay on!! My dog is a 38 pound terrier mix and in addition to pushing it, he will occasionally pounce on it and dig at it. Anyway he plays the end caps pop right off with little force and I've taking to taping them on.

I bought this game for my son's 2 Shar Pei. It is not for short snout dogs. They could not get their noses in to get the treat. It would be great for dogs with pointed snouts.

This is a great toy for smart dogs. We have two Siberian Huskies. The three sides on the ends pop off easily and once the dog figures that out it ruins the game. So we stepped it up a notch. We used painters tape to tape all the ends shut - so the ball can only come out one way (well..once our female managed to get it from the center with her mouth - we still aren't sure how she did that). Sometimes they get it quickly and other times they throw it around a bit. We have only used it with a treat inside the first few times - now we take the game out for special play time and the interaction with the pups is great. Definitely worth buying! We have always supervised the pups playing with it. I'm sure if we left them alone with it it would be chewed up and the ball would become a choking hazard. (I say pups...our dogs are 6 years old, but will always be puppies to us)

Bought this on the road from pet store. Our English Cocker loves these kind of puzzles.

The ball has little nibs that can be carefully snipped to adjust how easily it is to get the treats out. However, there is an impossibly tiny difference between "impossible to get treat out" and the treat falling out of the ball inside of the maze, which sort of defeats the challenge of 1)get ball out, 2) get treats out of ball. Fortunately, our dog loves balls so much that he could getting the ball without treats.

Unfortunately, the 3 plastic doors, an integral part of the challenge for a smart dog, fall off as the dog manipulates the puzzle. Good idea, but poorly made. Would not recommend or buy again. Much better puzzles on the market.
