The Psychick Warriors Ov Gaia's OV BIOSPHERES AND SACRED GROOVES is a classic album -- dark and mysterious, it was one of the first to introduce 'tribal' elements to techno, though "The Challenge (Part One)" is all about the atmospheric groove. But those tribal rhythms make themselves known on "Linkage" and extend somewhat into the melancholic "The Tides (They Turn)." A more delicate melody takes the center of "Obsidian," though that track remains grounded by its steady bass. The spooky "Anathema Ov Jean Jacques Derrillard" shows the dark industrial-ambient side of the Warriors, whereas "The Challenge (Part Two)" is almost jaunty by comparison. "New Edge Mantra" ends the album on an ambient note, though the US version includes the deep, funky -- and then ambient -- Drum Club remix of "Exit 23." An essential listen.

Looks to be available for very little money. Grab this classic of dark atmospheric music.

very low key, slow developing, chill out music...yet with a dark undercurrent.

Quite amazing this disc is so old now, but it's worth it. Deep, sometimes dark , undulating electronica.
