Great shallow bodied acoustic guitar, April 18, 2006
This review is from: Ovation T357 Tangent Super-Shallow Bowl Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar (Black)
I normally use this guitar as a acoustic, rather than an "electric/acoustic". It sounds just as good as a normal acoustic, but without that bulky fat body. It's thin, so it's a lot easier to play, and the tuning heads are nice and loose, but not so loose that the fall off. It also works nice for electric guitar, but I haven't really tried that often. Overall, this guitar is a nice buy for $500.

Ovation Tangent Acoustic/Electric Guitar, November 19, 2006
This review is from: Ovation T357 Tangent Super-Shallow Bowl Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar (Black)
I received my Ovation Tangent approximately 3 weeks ago. I purchased this guitar because I was looking for a lower mid-priced accoustic/electric. I am a guitar hobbiest and have several guitars. I am biased to my Martin, which I try to play daily. Since I received my Ovation, I have had a difficult time of not putting it down. The action is smooth and comfortable and the tone is specific to the Ovation. (My wife prefers the Ovation's sound to that of my Martin!). Playing primarily as a "finger picker", I was concerned about the narrow neck, however I have not had any difficulty adapting. The holding of the Ovation while playing is difficult without a strap as the curved back is slick, even with the non skid treatment on the bottom of the box. A salesman at my music store described the playing of an Ovation like "dancing with a pregnant lady" - a very vivid description. I believe that the electronics are of high quality and I have not experienced any buzzing or feedback. My only critisism is of the Ovation WEB cite. Prior to my purchase, I visited the cite multiple times to get specific info regarding the Tangent. Each and everytime when I would click on "Tangent", the WEB cite caused me to lose my connection.
