It's hard for me to be completely objective about this book since I am a tremendous fan of Miss Read's books and enjoy every "trip" I make to Fair Acre and environs! Horrible Kindle edition; great book
A wonderful "Miss Read" book is ruined by being riddled with page after page of typos in this slipshod Kindle version. How do you print "die" instead of "the" for three pages running? One of these Miss Read volumes even had (more comically), "boob" for "book" and "fart" for "fact". There are even typos that a basic spell check would have caught. Very sad indeed. On a...

Miss Read has been a favorite for many years, very comforting reading, love for Fairacre pupils and parents is very evident. To read of the "ole time", and yet not that ole when life was simpler is refreshing.Yvonne
