More than just Ben Folds,
This review is from: Over The Hedge (Audio CD)
Over the Hedge sountrack, most people who like Ben Folds likely already have this. And if they are anything like me they've played all of the Ben Folds tracks over and over and have listened to none of the rest. Which is unfortunate becasue the rest is just as strong as Folds' tracks. Tracks like "Let's Call it Steve" and "Play?" come to mind with "Hammy Time" taking the lead. Rupert Gregson-Williams' peices are great to listen to, so if you need more that just "It's got Ben Folds" to convince you, Gregson-Willams' tracks fill out the album with superb orchestrated peices that are fun to listen to and make this the best soundtrack CD I've heard, which, granted, I haven't heard alot.

Great Movie, Great Soundtrack, Great Album!,

This is a great album that not only fans of the movie or fans of Ben Folds but anyone that comes across it would enjoy. When watching the movie (which has an excellent package of features on DVD by the way) I just had to keep watching the credits as I realised Ben Folds has rewritten his great song Rockin' the Suburbs. From that moment I knew I had to obtain that song but that by no means is the only great song on this album. Lost in the Supermarket, Heist, Still and Family or Me are all sensational. The classical style musical scores by Rupert Gregson-Williams are also a pleasure to listen to and will bring back memories of scenes in the film every time they play.
My only criticism of the album is that it could have included a few sound bites from the movie like RJ's comments about humans as five/ten second tracks like a lot of other soundtracks, especially children's movie albums do. The album is still a must buy without the sound bites it just would have been even better if they were here as well.

This is a really SUPER CD. I was looking for a song from this cd ran across the Ben Folds original songs and while it/they are funny, it isn't kid appropriate unless they are 15 or older.
The cd has 13 great tracks! 1. Family Of Me - Ben Folds 2. RJ Enters The Cave - Rupert Gregson-Williams 3. The Family Awakes - Rupert Gregson-Williams 4. Heist - Ben Folds 5. Lost In The Supermarket - Ben Folds 6. Lets Call It Steve - Rupert Gregson-Williams 7. Hammy Time - Rupert Gregson-Williams 8. Still - Ben Folds 9. Play? - Rupert Gregson-Williams 10. Rockin' The Suburbs (Over The Hedge Version) - Ben Folds featuring William Shatner 11. The Inside Heist - Rupert Gregson-Williams 12. RJ Rescues His Family - Rupert Gregson-Williams 13. Still (Reprise) - Ben Folds Want a great cd that has LOTS of funny, moving, superb songs? This is the one! I only wish there was going to be a sequel to the Over the Hedge movie !

Love this music. My kids and I have memorized some songs - car rides are pleasant. A little too much instrumental music from the movie though. Product came as expected shrink wrapped in perfect condition.

I loved the movie, the the whole back story was awesome. I hate suburban sprawl and when re-watching the movie I noticed Ben Folds doing most (all it turns out) of the music. He is an obvious choice as he has the same views on suburbanization and the like so it was a good fit. Being that I own all his other albums and needed something new to listen to this was a no brainer. The soundtrack has a few new songs and a few old ones re-written for the movie and is definitely worth it.

Ben Folds for kids!,

I bought this CD as a Christmas gift for my friend's kids (ages 6 & 4). Both my friend and I are big Ben Folds fans but a lot of his songs aren't kid friendly. His kids have started to like what they've heard from Ben Folds and have been requesting his songs when they get into the car with him. So he ends having to sing 'alternate' words loudly over top the actual lyrics, like in Rockin' The Suburbs... "Better watch out because I'm gonna say Duck". The kids tend to request that song over and over. So this CD was perfect for kids and parents that like Ben Folds.

I bought this CD strictly for the Ben Folds tracks. The CD only has about 5 tracks from Ben Folds, but each is well worth it.

In this day and age I am being forced to buy an entire album for just one song that I like... what is this, the twilight zone?
