Editorial Reviews

Formed in Montreal in 1993 by vocalist Jason Rockman and guitarist Kevin Jardine, Slaves on Dope released their highly successful debut album Inches From The Mainland in 2000 on Ozzy Osbourne s Divine Recordings, making appearances on major touring outings including Ozzfest and Sno-Core.

They followed un Inches with 2003s Metafour released via Bieler Brothers/MCA, supporting it until 2004 whey they disbanded, to reform, with an updated lineup, in 2011 to record Over The Influence, their first album in over 8 years.

5.0 out of 5 stars Glad they are back March 17, 2013
Format:Audio CD
I'm glad this band is back....So much of this music is gone today and i'm glad there are still bands that try to retain and stay original rather than try and be like everything else. This album is a great listen!

3.0 out of 5 stars I've Heard Better From A Band That Can Do Better February 14, 2014
By Patt
Format:Audio CD
After a long hiatus, Slaves on Dope are back with, Over the Influence but unfortunately it's big let down. The album doesn't even compare to Metafour and Inches from the Mainline (still their best musical effort in my opinion). However, it is far better than their debut, One Good Turn Deserves Another, which isn't very good. Slaves on Dope have never been an original band with most of their musical style found throughout the music scene. So, I didn't expect much from their latest full length album, but I expected more than this after the nine year gap between this album and Metafour. Over the Influence, can be summed up in one sentence; musically its good, lyrically it's garbage. There's some decent to nice guitar work here followed by bass and drum work, but the vocals are boring and repetitive. If you get the chance to buy it, skip the opportunity. If you can get it free from a buddy, do that instead. There are better bands on the scene, but I'll give Slaves on Dope props for trying although, sadly it's time to pack it up and start something new.
