Emotional Read, August 8, 2009
This review is from: Over the Rainbow Bridge (Paperback)
Ms. Enebrad did an amazing job articulating the specialness of her child and their heartbreaking jounrney to "Summerland". This book emotionally drained me, I laughed, I cried and I sobbed. When I finished this book it made me reflect on those I have loved and lost in my own life and how I talk to others about death, dying and my views on the afterlife. She offers sound advice advice and shares valuable wisdom, I only hope her daughter Brie decides to write about her experience as the young sibling of a terminal child.
Thank You Ms. Enebrad for sharing your amazing little guy with all of us and for offering such a personal emotional glimpse into his short life.
I look forward to more works by this author.

Laugh, Love and Live, September 16, 2009
This review is from: Over the Rainbow Bridge (Paperback)
I read Shirley Enebrad's Over the Rainbow Bridge with trepidation, expecting her story to be depressing; instead, I did indeed laugh and cry. She and her son, Cory, are an inspiration to live, love and laugh, and to hold our loved ones close and never be afraid to say I love you.

This story will stay with you forever!, October 20, 2009
This review is from: Over the Rainbow Bridge (Paperback)
I started reading this book late last night and could not put it down until it was finished. I'm still speechless...
This book is a must read! Is it possible for a child to be sent to this earth to teach? The answer (after reading this story) is a unequivocal YES.
This is not a sad/depressing book by any stretch of the imagination. This is a compelling story in which the writer invites you into a special part of her life and you truly feel as if you are a part of the journey.
I never knew Cory and do not know the writer and her family, but after reading this book, this little boy will be in my heart forever.

A read to last Forevermore, September 2, 2009
This review is from: Over the Rainbow Bridge (Paperback)
Wow- I bought this book in the a.m. and was done by evening. What a privilege to have S. Enenbrad share her innermost thoughts on this journey. It showed how to live with joy and courage amidst the devastating illness of her son. The way she dealth with the medical community was straightforward and an inspiration. Felt like I wanted to be the author's friend by the end. This book should help us all be more open and vulnerable in our treasured relationships.

Intriguing Concepts, November 18, 2009
This review is from: Over the Rainbow Bridge (Paperback)
When I finished the book, I was happy Cory's incredible suffering was over, but had fallen in love with him and got a huge kick out of some of the things he said; I still think of him now and then. What an experience his family had; I can't imagine sustaining that level of physical and emotional stress for so long. Over the Rainbow Bridge provides intriguing concepts about death and the dying process; it is definitely not a downer.

Wonderful!, October 26, 2009
This review is from: Over the Rainbow Bridge (Paperback)
I read this book over an entire weekend, couldn't put it down. Cory's story and his wonderful spirit made me wish I had known this extraordinary little boy. He packed a lifetime of living into his few years on earth and his lesson on how to live with grief and know you will see your loved one again, was a very healing message. If you read nothing else this year, read this wonderful nurturing book!

This rich book has universal appeal. I hope to hear it is printed in several languages and Shirley starts book promotions.
She has delivered Cory's message with clarity, intelligence and wit. If you know anyone who needs encouragement through tough times, offer this book. Thank you, Shirley. A job well done. You and sweet Cory are amazing!!!

Awesome!, August 4, 2009
This review is from: Over the Rainbow Bridge (Paperback)
This is a very quick read, indeed! And, what an awesome thing to be sharing such an amazing teacher with more of us than the smaller circle of Cory's everyday lifings. Thank you Ms. Enebrad for gifting us all this story of love and wisdom. I loved Cory's spirit and truthfulness, and how he shared it with everyone.
Beyond anyone who is having to deal with the death of a loved one (specifically a child), or someone trying to help someone else deal, I'd suggest every medical school have this as required reading. I especially appreciated Shirley's helpful tips on how NOT to treat others in loss... there's nothing worse than someone telling us to just get over it however "gently" they think they're doing it!

Life Changing -August 1, 2009
Although, I am a slow reader- and it can take me months to finish a book that interests me. I picked this book up on a Sunday evening and was finished at 9 pm Monday night. I could not get enough of the book.
"Over the Rainbow Bridge" has validated all my beliefs about our purpose here on earth, about past lives and about the other side. What little reading I have done about these subjects have always left me with some doubt. Knowing the author as a friend, has made these topics all so real. It's one of those books you will want to have extra copies to give to anyone going through hard times, practically death or impending death of a loved one. I believe this book will give you a greater understanding of your purpose- we are all are here to LEARN- to be better people. Life Changing

Mind-blowing, January 13, 2012
This review is from: Over the Rainbow Bridge (Paperback)
I recently finished reading Shirley's book. From the moment I picked it up I could not put it down. It's such an inspirational story of hope! Like another review on here said this should be required reading for teens. Cory's strength and determination is a shining example for everyone, not just people dealing with terminal illness.
