2.0 out of 5 stars another book review
Cover jacket was scuffed and had a sticky residue that I couldn't get off. The pages were yellowed and appeared very old. Promptly received.

"In my own life I always pray for guidance as I choose my goals," writes Ziglar. In the margin I dated it and wrote "I do too." This book contains so much rich, practical, doable wisdom, not wonder it's a classic for achievers. Persistence leads to desired results. He quotes Robert Collier in making the point when he noted, "Success is the sum of small efforts--repeated day in and day out."

Ziglar talks about seeing one's self in the mind's eye as a prelude to accomplishment. "I dreamed overy forty years ago that I would be traveling the world, making speeches to every conceivalbe kind of group. I literally saw myself in front of vast audiences making those talks," he tells us.

On feeding success mentally, he reminds us of the necessity to surround ourselves with people who are going to edify us. He adds, "read good books." This is one such good book. Read it!

5.0 out of 5 stars The best of Zig Ziglar, January 4, 2002

Zig's popularity didn't really explode until this book was released for the first time in 1993. And most authors choose to refer this book, out of all other ones Zig has written for others to read. Instead of focusing on just pure motivation, Zig teaches the art of living a happy, well-balanced life. The books starts off by raising you out of the trench of depression, then by giving you hope, arming you with a positive attitude and then instructing you with the best goal setting program I have ever read. Some parts of the book in opinion were quite dull and could use more follow up information,
but just the a good orchestra the final product was beautifully composed. If you're looking for a fun, humorous and simple book, I strongly suggest you take a look at Zig's Success for Dummies first, before buying this one. If you have one you do not need the other. The reason I like SFD better is because it combines his books See you at the Top and this one together.

Zig's message and inspiration have given me the hope, power, and courage to have the things in life I want. My attitude about life has changed dramatically and have remained high for almost a year. I would recommend this book (as well as all his books) to anyone wanting to succeed in life. Thank you Zig from me as well as my family.

5.0 out of 5 stars A fantastic book that would benefit anyone!, November 4, 1998

Zig presents principles in this book that would help anyone who is willing to take the time to apply them. The section on goal-setting was very useful to me and very practical. Zig has a way of making things easy to understand and in his upbeat style you come away knowing that you can do it too! Another thing that I really appreciate about Zig is that he doesn't put his faith on the backburner. He clearly presents Biblical principles because they have changed his life as well as the lives of countless thousands of others.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book, recommend it to anyone, December 11, 1998

Great motivational and inspirational book. Zig has come up with a lot of good ideas to help those confused or depressed, or just need a little more inspiration! After the first initial chapters, some of Zig's messages seem to appear repeating itself, but nevetheless, still a must read for anyone who needs to pump up their life a bit.

I don't have much to say about the book other than it is one I would make a reading requirement for all my students if I was a teacher. Great chapter on Goal Setting. Zig Ziglar is a wonderful facilitator of knowledge dedicated to living a well balanced life.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great book, January 4, 2002

The chapter on goal setting is worth the price of the book. This was one of the primary resources I used for motivation when the going got tough with my diet. (Lost 75 pounds in the year 2001, and have went from being unable to walk 30 minutes w/o stopping to 3 mile runs.) If there is a weakness it is that Zig can get wordy sometimes, but if I felt that I understood his point, I just moved on. On the other hand, I've read certain parts of the book 8 - 9 times (@ least), and will probably read the book again soon. This is a keeper!

I'm reading this book for the third or fourth time, and it is even more encouraging and motivating than the first time I read it. If you are serious about wanting to be and do your best, this is a great book to read and apply.
