Every Yardbird song that i used to know when i was younger is in this album. I like the vocalist of this group, the songwriting and of course the guitar work. I'm more of a Jeff Beck fan, but i like of course Page and Clapton. I couldn't name a special song of this CD, there are quite a few choices for favourite songs.

This is a real shame. It's a compilation of terrific songs, but very poorly recorded. Sound quality is really lacking. Would love to buy a new, improved re-issue.

This is the only Yardbirds release that cover all three guitar players tenure with the legendary group. Starting with Eric Clapton, the band progressed from blues to psychedelia to the beginnings of heavy metal. Jeff Beck's era is well represented as is Jimmy Page's final months with the band. Includes such devastating singles as "Happenings Ten Years Time Ago" (with both Beck and Page) and "Think About It" (with Jimmy Page). If you've wondered what all the hubub about this band is, this is where to start.

The only reason I'm giving this CD release a 4 1/2 star rating instead of a five star one,is that I still like their 'Ultimate' 2-CD box set better(see my review).Don't get me wrong,this 28-song anthology just may very well be the BEST Yardbirds single disc compilation ever.Covers all three of the Yardbird's eras of Clapton,Beck and Page.Also includes informative liner notes.A should-have.

Most of the songs included came from lps or other sources. Buyer beware! Purchase the Rhino collection.

I was looking for a single disc fairly comprehensive collection. I was also looking for a collection that had the songs that were my favorites and were hits. This one does it for me pretty much. Maybe its just me, but I didn't think that the sound quality was poor at all. I think for most listeners, they will feel that it plays well. Now it might be possible that playing it on a very high end sound system might show up a discrepancy or two, I don't know. I think this is a great bargain with some really great music for the money. What can you say about a legendary band that had 3 of the worlds greatest guitar players as members during its time, even if not all at once? Most fans will enjoy this CD.
