Ok, so the lead singer Mike Donehey is my son. Wow...now I feel much better having got that up front. Tenth Avenue North has been on the road for years playing venues of every size and this debut CD on Reunion Records reflects a mature yet fresh sound with lyrics that captivate (and ultimately satisfy) your ears and soul. Scripturally based, every song ministers to young and old and grabs you on the inside and won't let go. Taste from the samples and then go deep with the purchase of this breakout CD which I believe you'll play over and over as each song gets underneath your heart.

I am very passionate about music, especially Christian music, since I think worshiping God through song is one of the best ways to get through to him spiritually. It actually lets the Holy Spirit shine through me. Tenth Avenue North, who seem to have come out of nowhere, have done this for me. I was overwhelmed with Over and Underneath. I had heard the track "Love is Here" on the radio and immediately fell in love with it. The same can be said with the rest of the album as well. My favorite songs would be the aforementioned "Love is Here", "By Your Side", the gorgeous "Beloved", and my personal favorite, "Hallelujah". Give these young men a try. You will be blessed. I was and am.

So glad I decided to download this new album! Tenth Avenue North stands atop the newest crop of talented Christian bands in the last year that create inspirational lyrics matched with a fresh sound that withstands many listens. This album has not gotten old after a dozen listens within the last week for me. Crisp guitars, symphonic backdrops, good rhythms, harmonic vocals all complete the package. Such a great listen!

This disc is fantastic - I can't stop singing the songs over and over, and I don't want to. The music spoke to me about God's love in ways that really stopped me in your tracks. (Check out By Your Side, for starters) The tunes are singable, clever and edgy enough to earn your attention. I am buying several more copies to give to friends - highly recommended!

A friend played the song "You Are" this past weekend during worship for our "twenty-something" church service. The song brought me to tears, and the lyrics stuck with me all night. He told me the name of the band, and I looked them up online. Their website has three full length songs from the album, and they were all awesome. Be sure to listen to "Let It Go" when you buy the album. That song really spoke to me. This CD is awesome, and I think it really has something for everyone who loves Jesus!

As a side note, I thought it was so sweet that the lead singer's father was the first to review this album. The support of your family is so important!

I almost typed, "One of the best CHRISTIAN albums I've ever purchased"; however, I deleted the word Christian. I won't demean this album by slapping a label on it. It is simply an amazing CD from top to bottom. Song seven (Times), while melodically slow, is spiritually captivating. There are times I put that song on repeat and listen to it all the way to work. This and a few other songs are written from God's perspective (much like "Run" by Kutless) and really give this album a unique feel.

Bottom Line: If you're thinking about giving this unheard of band a shot, don't--JUST DO IT! BUY IT NOW! You won't regret it!

As a musician, I'm not completely blown away by the songwriting on this album. It's catchy, easy on the ears and quite professional... just not brilliant. That being said, Tenth Avenue North has a real heart for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and it shows in the music. While I generally flock to either hardcore metal or alternative pop/rock, I must say that music like this really brings me to a place of peace in my heart, and I commend bands with enough humility to take the simpler route and just praise our Lord. Kudos to Tenth Avenue North for keeping it real and praising the Creator with everything in them!

Every song on this album was beautifully written and has such an amazing sound. It brings glory to God with each verse.. love it and listen to it over and over again!

Love every song on this album! Do your self a favor and download the whole album, don't just pick and choose.

This is one of our favorite albums. We are Latter Day Saints and find this music very uplifting and inspiring. It is wonderful to have so many great Christian artists and Tenth Avenue North is one of the best new Christian bands in years. A must buy! We highly recommend it!
