This is a must buy for anyone who loves underground hip hop. The production of the Grouch and PSC is flawless, and the cd flows extremely well. The living legends have once again put out a champion. If you are a fan of the living legends, underground hip hop, or just want a solid cd to listen to, Overall will not dissapoint.

One of the LL Crew's finest albums!,

I find it downright confusing that so many people have found this album to be simply "average". I was first exposed to CMA's "All Over", and loved it, which lead me to buy "Overall". At first listen I found this record to be better in the way of beats, rapping, and the overall hunger and soul that the Living Legends bring forth to their music. The beats are definitely not as "mainstream" or "expensive" sounding as the crew's newer records, but they do possess an addictive G-Funk laced swagger that is unmatched by either The Grouch's or Luckyiam.PSC's discography. The Grouch handles most of the production, and the beats knock hard. As far as rapping goes, this is grade "A" Living Legends. They are simply out to destroy the competition, and that's exactly what they bring forth. "The CMA", "Overall" & "U Might Knock This..." are at the top of this crew's game. If you are a Living Legends fan (and any true hip-hop head should be), you simply need this album in your collection!

This is easily the best work to come out of the living legends. The flawless production of the Grouch and PSC (mystik journeymen) is evident on every track. The beats are smooth, yet intense with heavy bass and well calculated rhymes. The Grouch is the best white rapper on the planet, and he demonstrates his lyrical talents on this cd. If you are a fan of the living legends, like underground hip hop, or are just looking to add to your collection, this cd will not dissapoint.

Stands the test of time, still worth the $$$ in 2011,

Although this album has been out for over a decade, I felt a review was in order because none of the others so far have really done it justice.
As a longtime legends fan, I can easily say this album cracks my top 5, and still gets regular play. Something about the production is unique and mesmerizing, and the raps come from a time before these guys "made it," were hungry, and focused 100% on their craft. My favorite are My Shoes, Free Will, Why I Crew, Whatchahere4? and Introspections but you have to hear the album all the way through cause the other tracks each stand up on their own, each with a little substance behind it. If you get "it," you will love this album.

Im a huge fan of the Living Legends crew and an even bigger fan of Grouch. This albums production is worth the purchase alone but I will admit this disc had a few low points [and I mainly point them at Luckyiam PSC]. Album is STILL worth a buy if you are a LL fan but more of a used buy if you are new to the Living Legends.

Well this cd kind of sucks considdering its by mys journ/Liv Leg. The only good track and its off the hook is track 11. U Might Knock This (Really) if the rest of this cd was as up beat as that track id love it! but its not sooo, its not really worth it unless you want 1 really good track and some slow borring tracks..

This album isn't bad, but it's just not good. There's nothing that makes it stand out at all amongst its peers. The beats are extremely original, but there's nothing moving or inspiring about them; it seems like they're almost trying to be too original, and the beats ended up coming out with any direction, a lot like Del tha Funky Homosapien's "Sides of the Brain" album. I was quite disappointed with this album especially with the knowledge of what potential this album could have had. However, it's just your run of the mill hip hop, nothing original to say, other than "I'm true to hip hop, not like those other clowns". While the songs sound varied, the actual lyrical content and delivery is pretty much the same for most of the songs. Very little interesting word play a lack of simile and metaphor, and worst of all, the songs lack a lot of charisma and energy. If you remember Souls of Mischief's "No Man's Land" you'll get that same disappointment with this album. It's just not up to par with their normal level of performance. This one will be on your shelf in a month. Listen to the audio clips, and decide for yourself.
