Its a shame that creators of this type of cd don't realize that many of us use this material as we fall asleep at night

they always insist on waking us up again!

I am willing to bet that most users are putting themselves to sleep using the product.

I bought one Glenn Harrold's cd years ago and didn't like his accent, the music, or the script, but I thought I'd give him another try with OVERCOME ADDICTIONS.

Listening to the cd, I find it really well done. I was concerned the message could conflict with what I'm learning in my 12-step program(s), but I find the script really compliments the 12-step approach. Harrold successfully bridges the aims of developing personal responsibility AND dependence on a higher power.

I won't go so far as to say this will cure your addictions. But I will say that it is a good tool to aid in recovery. I have a feeling it would be beneficial to those who have never meditated and need something structured to help them sit still and focus inward.

I'm still not crazy about his accent, but I'm getting used to it.

I purchased this CD in the hopes that it would help me with my eating disorder (which I believe can be a form of addiction for some).
I've only used it a couple times so far, I can't seem to get into the routine of using it (I think that'll be a New Year's resolution). But it's very relaxing. And though I did feel in that deeply relaxed state, I was always aware of what I was hearing. (I think with hypnosis I fear that I'll get these crazy subliminal messages!)It runs about 30 minutes, which could be good or bad, depending on what you're looking for. I'd prefer to use it in my sleep, so I wish it were longer. Also, at the end, he brings you out of your trance-type state, which is good if you're using it during the day, but not if you're trying to fall asleep.

But, if you're like me, and you've had an addiction for a very long time and you're tried a lot with no success, I say, what have you got to lose? I'll try anything at this point. And, hey, aside from finding the time to use it, it takes no real effort on your part!
