As one of 38 contributing authors to the Overcomers, Inc. anthology, I knew in my heart that this book was a special project which would provide many people with hope, courage, and inspiration -- I just didn't have a clue as to how big of an impact these stories could have on others, until I read my first copy I received this past week.

Whether you're dealing with the loss of a loved one, the struggles of a divorce, the trauma of past sexual abuse, the emotions that come from being told you have a fatal disease or illness, the stress of financial difficulties, or just plain fears or obstacles that can be encountered in life, THIS is an inspiring book to read. Each author's chapter is laid out within 5 or 6 pages, so you can pick it up whenever you wish, and read for as long as you choose to. You'll find yourself laughing and crying, and making note of your favorite stories that you'll want to read again.

In the introduction, Lynne Klippel tells us we "will find real life tales of remarkable courage, strength, and perseverance..." This reminds me of a couple of verses from the book of James, found in the NIV version of the Holy Bible. James 1:12a says "Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial" and James 5:11a states "As you know, we consider blessed those who have persevered."

If you are looking to be encouraged and uplifted, read this book. Once you do, you'll know in your heart that if you take ACTION to OVERCOME, and PERSEVERE, you too will be blessed!

First of all, I AM NOT one of the authors involved in this project. I'm a therapist and counselor, so I inevitably see people when life is tough. Besides, I've been through rough patches myself--therapists often live out the "wounded healer" script.

One of the greatest strengths in this book and a reason I recommend it so highly is the universality of facing hard times rings so true here. You will find your own story in these pages, and they will remind you that you can get through your "dark night of the soul," too. It's frightening, and it takes determination, courage, and often the willingness to let go of cherished assumptions to do it, but the authors in this collection will help you. I also appreciated the inclusiveness of the stories--some have a Christian flavor, others a more generically spiritual tone. There's inspiration and strength for the journey in here for everyone!

When I started reading the book I half expected to be pleasantly entertained, but not particularly moved. I mean, I see this stuff every day. Was I ever surprised! The authors spoke to me like friends, and their stories were so compelling I found myself rooting for them and happy, REALLY happy, for their perseverance and determination. Here are folks who know what it's like to get kicked hard by life and still keep going and emerge victorious. Each author was remarkably generous and courageous to share their stories, some of which still stay with me as breathtaking examples of the resilience we all have inside of us.

Do yourself and your loved ones a favor. Get this book! I'm buying an extra copy for my waiting room.

As one of the co-authors of this book I was eagerly anticipating the arrival of my first copy in the mail. I knew that I was going to enjoy it as I've become friends with several of the other authors and had an idea of what some of the stories were going to touch upon. I can honestly say that I had NO idea how riveting it would be. I could hardly put it down. The stories were all so very touching and inspiring.

In this book we are blessed with 38 unique perspectives on how to deal with life's challenges. Some stories made me cry, some made me laugh, all gave me new insight.

We all need encouragement now and then. Sometimes we find ourselves in what feels like impossible circumstances. We can gain strength from discovering that we're not alone in our challenges. Others have been there and have found their own unique way to get beyond the challenge to a more fulfilled life and we can too.

If you're currently in a situation where you feel hopeless or helpless, if you have a curiosity about the diverse ways we as humans pull ourselves up by our bootstraps and continue on, or if you're just someone who enjoys happy endings - then this is a book for you! Let us share with you our stories to encourage you, comfort you and inspire you to enjoy the precious life that you've been given.

As one of the contributing authors, naturally I was proud of participating in what I knew would be life-altering for me; to share my personal story of overcoming childhood sexual molestation.

I had no idea until receiving my copy--and my inability to put it down!--that the compilation of stories would be so compelling, inspiring and motivating with potential positive impact for ANYONE who reads it.

What I like most is the diversity contained within, and tangible, real-world steps the reader can take to become an overcomer. This is a powerful book, not merely a rehashing of life's challenges, but more importantly, how anyone can step into their own power.

In today's tough economic times, this book is a must have for everyone. Most of us are very unsure that we will pull through as a country or individually.

With this book, you will make a wise investment as it provides you with so much value and benefit each time you pick it up and read one of the powerfully, spiritually uplifting stories.

You are shown how hope, guidance, support, wisdom and proven techniques and strategies can help a person get through the toughest challenges in life.

People need to read this book to believe and understand that our greatest challenges turn out to be our greatest opportunities to grow and help others. Sometimes, what we all need is a bit of hope and inspiration to allow us to move through our fears which have paralyzed us.

Being able to read so many true stories about people, just like you, overcoming difficulties, pushing through the fears and emerging as a stronger person with definitive purpose is priceless.

These stories will connect with your heart and provide the faith to uplift you above and beyond any tough situation that is present in your life or that may be on its way --- why not be one step ahead of adversity and welcome it with grace. I am honored to be one of the contributing authors to this book.

I laughed, I cried, and I've been inspired. I'll be honest upfront and tell you that I'm one of the authors on this project... HOWEVER, I had no idea what any of the others wrote until I got my advance copy 2 days ago. All I can say is WOW! This amazing collection of stories by a really diverse group puts into perspective my own feelings about life and how I handle obstacles and adversity. It has also caused me to reflect on how powerful written words can be and what an immediate impact they can have on your life. Anyone going through a hard time, a crisis or loss, can find solace, comfort and calm in this book. If you are seeking answers and solutions to your problems, you may find an author who speaks directly to you. If you are caught-up in the vortex of life and are trying to find your way, simply reading how others have found a way to overcome can help you find your way too. A great book to have handy whenever you have a few minutes to read a chapter or need a quick uplifting above the daily stresses or big crises in life.

I read a few excerpts from this book, and the one from MeKila caught my eye. Her Oma (grandmother) saying: "When one is content, one is always happy." To me, that one line is worth the price of admission.

Whow!!! Long ago my dad and I decided that when something is really big, "Wow" isn't big enough, so we added an "h". Whow!!! I just purchased two (2) of these books, and can't wait to get them, and give one away. My guess is, that I'll give the 2nd one away, and purchase more, too.

When I was invited to be a part of this amazing project I had no idea the impact the authors, stories and experience would have on me. During the creation of this book I experienced one of the toughest (and yet most blessed) times of my life. The journey has been made easier because of the personal experiences shared by each author, the depth of their belief in miracles and of the incredible energetic message the book contains.
