Another Person In My Shoes,
By Jodee (Canada) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Overcoming Challenges : Congenital Heart Defects ... Life After Heart Surgery (Paperback)
Although this book was not what I expected; I found it to be a great book for young people just starting to learn about their special gift- being a person with a congenital heart defect. I was actually born with a heart condition as well, and I found it interesting to hear another person's point of view on growing up with the challenges that heart patients go through. I found it interesting to hear someone else talk about their experiences before and after undergoing surgery. As I was growing up I always felt that I was the only one who had to go through with the things I had to; such as hospital stays, surgery, and a scar down the center of my chest. Reading Melissa's story made me realise that their are other special people who have gone though similar experiences.
