This review is from: Overcoming the Two Cultures: Science versus the Humanities in the Modern World-System (Fernand Braudel Center Series) (Hardcover)
It's interesting to see how particular philosophical strains have alternately aligned themselves with the humanities or the sciences over the centuries, and how the split in the humanities and sciences came about. If you didn't really understand how Ph.D descended from being a Doctor of Philosophy, no book will clear it up better than this.
