Book Description

September 15, 2003
This powerful book offers practical tools to show parents how to love their children, fight today's overindulging tendencies, and coach their children to happy, healthy indipendence. Parents often find themselves in the predicament of having too much to do, and not enough time to spend with their children. To ease their guilt, they often overindulge, giving children too many material things and too much freedom. It is time to stem the tide of overindulgence and make a positive, powerful difference in the lives of the children we love!

This review is from: Overindulged Children: A Parent's Guide to Mentoring (Paperback)
This is a wonderful book. I think anyone raising children should own and read this. Boy, did I find out how overindulged my children are! The book is helping me turn this around, and is making life easier and more pleasant for us all.

5.0 out of 5 stars Every parent needs this book!, March 27, 2009

Thank you Dr. Fogarty! Your book if fabulous. I did my research paper on Over-Indulgent Parenting for my Child and Adolescent Psychology class. I learned so much. As much as I would think "oh, that's what Ann's parents do" I also pinpointed behavior that was common to me. What a wake-up call! My instructor asked quite often how my paper was going, and I could not stress enough that this should be given out when just after a baby is born! Or at the very least when the child enters pre-school or kindergarten. We all need to take off our blinders!

Thank you!

Frustrated, my therapist wants me to read a book that is not available in any bookstores (book no longer in print) or any of the 77 libraries in my area. Frustration over to my surprise in my mail today was Dr. Fogarty book signed with a copy of his tape. I want to thank Dr. Fogarty for not only sending me his book & tape but also waving all charges since the mix-up with the order took so long to receive. I am truly thankful and excited to read how not to overindulge my children anymore. Thank you again!
