I searched high and low for a bag that was small enough to throw in a diaper backpack, but big enough to hold a wallet, car keys and a cell phone in case I needed to use it separately. I found it in this bag. When you wear it across your shoulder, it sits nicely on your hip and does not bounce around as much as other bags and even stays somewhat in place when you bend over (like to pick up a child). It has a lined cell phone pocket inside the zippered compartment, which is nice, but I keep my phone inside the front compartment closed by a magnet because it is easier to lift that flap that to unzip the other when the phone is ringing. If you want to ditch a wallet altogether, it has credit card slots in the zippered compartment (although the cards are a very tight fit) and a small zippered area where you could put coins in the front magnetic pocket. The credit card slots are organized so that they are across from your hip and facing you when wearing the bag and the zippered compartment is open. This makes it easy to see which card to pull without having to take the bag off - very convenient. The very back pocket closest to your hip is just one big pocket with no organization - perfect for misc. items like a camera, small wallet or compact. I wish the bag was a little bit smaller since it actually has more room than I need, but I still love it! I haven't tried wearing it as a fanny pack, but it's neat that you have that option when you don't want a big strap across your chest.

I bought this to carry all of my junk on a trip to Italy. It's very well made and holds credit cards, money, cell phone, keys, pocket camcorder, small Italian Dictionary along with a small note book. I still have room for more. I discovered I could shorten the strap enough to wear it around my waist. I think this is just what the doctor ordered.

Waist pack with a wallet organizer - Great little bag,

The Overland Bayliss is a small crossbody bag that converts to a waist pack. I own waist packs from Eddie Bauer and Kiplinger and while they are awesome, the Bayliss actually has a wallet organizer which means you can leave your wallet at home when you wear this bag. It has 6 credit card slots and a secure place for bills and change. That is what I love about this bag and what sold it for me. Every section is zippered which means you can take it on an upside down rollercoaster and feel safe. There are even two fleece-lined pockets where you can put delicate items like reading glasses *without* the case or a digital camera. They will not scratch. This is a great little bag and I'm glad I purchased it (despite owning many crossbody bags and two waist packs already).

I love it. Many comparments keeps everything neat. Key hanger, soft sided pockets for cell phone and itouch. space for glasses, and wallet is big compartment. Card holders and a strap that can convert it to a waist pack.

I have forever been looking for a great little bag that fits what I need for it too but isn't bulky. Not only does this bag do that -- it's also super cute! Thank you!

I first saw this bag in an REI store, spent 10 minutes looking it over, decided it was too small, came back, looked it over some more, decided it was still too small, and left.
But it had its hooks in me. Resistance was futile. So I ordered it from Amazon. The first thing I did when it arrived was switch from my fat, hold-everything wallet to a slim wallet for only bills and change. Everything else...credit cards, insurance cards, Blood donor card...all that kind of stuff fits in various of the Bayliss bag's organizer pockets. As do my regular glasses (in slim case,) my sunglasses (no case,) a smallish comb, some mint, lip balm, pens, nail file, and digital camera. What I CAN'T do is cram it full of the paper nonsense I seem to pick up everywhere, or stash along a water bottle. But these are sacrifices I'm willing to make for compactness. My plan is to stuff this little bag in a large Eagle Creek backpack, and call that my "personal item" next time I fly. Meanwhile, I've been using it daily, and it's quite pleasing. I docked it one star on the grounds that I thought I might be interested in using the fanny pack option now and then. Turns out that if you're slim, the strap won't get short enough for you. I can kind of sling it from my hip, having it hit my thigh on the other side, but that doesn't seem very secure.

I purchased this at a retail store, and I wish I had seen it here first because the store didn't offer all these nice colors.... This is a perfect little bag to throw your valuables into for a short outing. I don't find waist packs very comfortable, and this is a great solution for me. It's very comfortable to wear across the shoulder, falls nicely and doesn't bounce around. A slightly wider strap or a shoulder pad would have made it even more comfortable.
