I bought this as a gold box special for $20 and think it is worth the non-sale price of $38. Please note it is the pendant only. Although it looks a little off gold color in the photo and real life, it looks fine w/ several different shades of other gold chains I have. I decided to purchase the earrings which are the same size as the pendant. It has a nice simple elegance w/ an eastern flair. I'm not concerned w/ the gold wearing off of the pendant, but I am a little concerned over the earrings wire's gold wearing off. I'll add an addendum if this happens.

I bought this pendant particularly to qualify for free super saver shipping. The fact that my birth stone is garnet was also one of the motivating factors for my purchasing it. I only felt truly justified in buying the pendant, though, when it beautifully and perfectly, rather than garishly or gaudily, adorned the beaded garnet necklace that my mother had gotten me for my January-fourteenth birthday. However, I think that without much care and with too much wear, this pendant can lose its luster; otherwise, good overall purchase for it even wowed a few of my friends.
