Britneys beautiful Overprotected & Slave 4 U!, March 21, 2002
This review is from: Overprotected / I'm a Slave 4 U (Thunderpuss Radio Mix) (Audio CD)
The biggest reason to buy this Britney single is for Britney's interview track as well as the essential remix of Slave 4 U done by none other than the brilliant Thundperpuss! Check out the Amber single "Sexual" that contains a remix done by Thunderpuss as well! Brit's Overprotected single starts off with the original album version of the song "Overprotected." It is very upbeat and the lyrics explain how young people are not given enough freedom from their parents and that they need more freedom to grow as their own person. I can really relate to it although I am now 29. However, tracks 2 & 3 are basically trancey remixes of "Overprotected". Track 2 you can tollerate even if you are not into trance mixes that much. I think that many people will still like it. I personally like it. It sounds way different than Brit's album version. I sort of am so I pretty much like it. If you didn't like Brit's remix of Crazy done by Spacedust then you wouldn't like this remix either. Track 3 is another "Overprotected' remix done by JS16. However, it really is not very Britney at all! There are no Britney lyrics in this one because for whatever reason JS16 did a dub with this one. Why Jive label released this track is beyond me. Track 4 is a personal interview where you will find out about Britney's tastes, styles, and feelings about music, fashion, and being a pop music icon and role model. Britney is very candid and mature in her interview. It is cool. Track 5 is the album version of "I'm a Slave 4 U.' If you have'nt heard this you don't know what you are missing. The video is incredible too. That is not included with this however. The song is about pure sexual feelings and eroticism on the dance floor. It goes right thru the roof with sexual energy! It is awesome and proves Britney's future staying power for years to come. Finally, track 6 is the final track and is a 10++++. The remix of genius remixers named THUNDERPUSS!!!! All I can say is that this track is more than worth the price of the single itself. Every other track on this is merely a bonus buy hon. Grab this import if you can find it now, Okkay! Byya bababy.

1. Album Version- This song you've already heard. 2. The js16 remix- This remix sucks! You only here 3 lines out of the whole song. 3. Js16 Dub- Same thing as the js16 remix, still sucks! 4. Exclusive Chat With Britney- You find out some cool stuff about Britney during this chat. 5. I'm a slave 4 u (Album Version)- You've heard it. 6. Thunderpuss Radio Mix- This is by far the best remix on this CD. Everyone will love this mix. If you don't even like the I'm a slave 4 U song, you will after you hear this remix. Best remix I've heard in a long time, which is the reason you should buy this CD.

Britney tells it like it is..., August 27, 2002
This review is from: Overprotected / I'm a Slave 4 U (Thunderpuss Radio Mix) (Audio CD)
Disrespect her no more!! This has GOT to be my favorite Britney song ever!! Who can help dancing to this? And the lyrics...wow! I didn't know she had such creativity in her. The thought of ditching her previous producers and releasing the "DarkChild" mix only was a step forward in Spear's career. Even though Rodney Jenkins recycles effects from Brandy (hear "happy" from her album, "Never S-A-Y- Never" it's still great. The a'capella like background of edited noise from Brit as well as the catchy chorus go along nicely together. She has now told the world what she wants. I didn't know there was so much she had to deal with when she was little...and what great way to tell it then thru this song! If you liked this one then I also reccomend her single previous to this "Not A Girl, Not Yet A Woman." Another personal tale with good lyrics. This song recieves an A+ from me.
