You do NOT have to RATE for the Girl Birdy! It isn't cool, though, to bribe people to rate the game, so it loses a star for that off the bat.

How to cheat to get your girl bird: tell it you are going to rate it, and when it opens, or offers to open, Amazon App Store, just click your back button. It will unlock the Girl Birdy.

There are NO permissions, no adware and no spyware.

GAME PLAY:
Like Angry Birds, and other physics-based games, you 'launch' your birdy from one wire rope to the next. Beware of walls and black stars. Honestly, though, I don't know why the developer bothered with "barbed" walls since regular walls are just as dangerous. Go figure.

You EARN gold stars to open Chapters. But instead of collecting them inside the level, you collect OTHER gold stars to earn enough points to earn TWO of the three stars, and the third star is TIMED.

You can skip levels, but if you don't have enough stars to open the next chapter, you are stuck in the current chapter until you do.

ENVIRONMENT:
The music is nice, the graphics are good, and the sound effects are okay. Back button eventually exits the game.

THE UGLY: Every time I reopen the game, it chose to reopen in the More Games menu. Clicking on a game opens the Amazon Appstore where you can purchase the game, BYPASSING In-App Purchasing restrictions! Not acceptable!! This lost a star all on its own.

Besides bribing you to rate the game, it is infested with Facebook nags. Not as bad as some, but bad enough.

SUMMARY:
It is a 4-star game RUINED by developer shenanigans that can cost you money and annoy the heck out of you.

BOTTOM LINE: Avoid Paying. Get it as FAOTD or pass.

This is a cute physics game that is better than the review average indicates. Your little birdy is sitting on a sling. You pull the sling to make the birdy hop from sling to sling with a goal of collecting all the stars on the way as you make your way to the other (apparently a girl) birdie. You receive a time score but apparently whether you get one, two or three stars for a level is based on the number of stars you collect. My main negative is the inability to see the screen as a whole, as you can in, say Angry Birds. It would be nice to be able to zoom out and see where the stars are for planning.

I would give it four stars for gameplay. Apparently the music is somewhat annoying (I rarely have the sound turned up on my devices), and when you quit the game, and re-enter, you get a "More Games" screen that is easily bypassed. I didn't detract a star for that, like some reviewers did. The music can be turned off in the options menu.

Playable in airplane mode. Plays in portrait orientation but will rotate 180 degrees.

3.0 out of 5 stars All Ages Game that Swings between Good and Blargh August 18, 2014

First thing, I don't really see this as a children's game. It's cutesy, but the difficulty escalation will have a wider appeal to All Ages than just children. It adds a touch of complexity in the physics of going from rope to rope compared to the last similar Free App of the Day, LITTLE CHOMP, which is definitely aimed at the pre-teen market with it's very easy mechanics and added collection features.

Not only does your rope stretching pivoting determine horizontal/vertical landing points of the jump, but you can also slide your bird left and right to futher adjust your aim. Touch response and accuracy is okay, just not really steady, and you can't slide/zoom the screen over to see where you are exactly heading/landing if your jump extends past the edge (which is quite often). The game is certainly fraught with obstacle dangers, not the least being that if you miss EVERYTHING, you quickly discover that you are a flightless bird as you plummet down. An unforgiving game in terms of general difficulty, which may be a minus if you are considering this game for a youth, and a plus if you want something more challenging.

Completely permission free, Portrait orientation only, this does get a few other technical knocks. First, and the one most irritating to me, is that when you enter the game on subsequent plays, it puts up a full MORE GAMES advert screen as if the big ole [More Games] link in the center of the main menu just isn't enough. Second, the music is extremely repetitious, being a short little guitar-esque easy listening clip that quickly becomes ear grating listening after about 3 minutes. Also, on the level selection screen, if you swipe all the way to the end, there is a "Rate Us" bribe to unlock the so-called secret ability to have the girl birdy as your avatar.

5.0 out of 5 stars "Get Birdy To His loved One".............. August 18, 2014
Verified Purchase
This is a very cute physics/strategy based game where you help Birdy jump from perch to perch collecting stars to get to his loved one... You can propel him and also move him from side to side for proper aim..You have many obstacles to overcome, different traps and stay away from the black stars...Poor Birdy will go SPLAT!

There are 70 challenging levels...It's in portrait mode only and the graphics are adorable..The music and sound fx are sweet....

Each chapter you have certain number of stars you must meet to unlock the next part..You can skip levels if you get stuck...Go back levels to try and get the three stars...In Options, Reset Game, Mute sound fx or music separately....You can trick the game into allowing you to play as the female character by going to the Help US Button....There it asks you to Rate Us but all you have to do is click on the Amazon Store which tricks it into giving you the other bird....Never having to rate it..(No annoying pop-up in this game asking you to rate us).....I am almost done with chapter 2 and there is no annoying pop-ups at all....There is just a link to Facebook...

Completely Permission free..No malware or adware and safe to load to you device...
