IF YOU DON'T KNOW, YOU BETTER ASK SOMEBODY!
KIKI HAS THE HOTTEST ALBUM OF THE SUMMER. IT'S THE MOST ANTICIPATED CD, WELL AT LEAST TO ME. "I OWE" IS A MUST HAVE. EVERY SONG IS ANNOITED AND AWESOME. KCS & JDS HAS TRAINED HER WELL. THERE'S NO CD LIKE IT. I'M READY FOR A LIVE ALBUM ALREADY! MAKE THIS A DEFINITE IN YOUR CD COLLECTION. KIKI AND J. DREW ARE DOING BIG THANGS IN THE MILLENI ERA OF GOSPEL MUSIC. KEEP IT UP.

I love that PAJAM sound man....it's different...............,
By Andrae Williams "DreSoul" (Toronto, Canada) - See all my reviews
This review is from: I Owe You (Audio CD)
To quote Tonex from one of his tracks, "J.Moss is a bad mamma jamma". His production skills I think are better than anyone in the R'B industry right now. This album is another PAJAM masterpiece and joins the long list of PAJAM produced LP's that are among some of my favorite gospel music. However, I wouldn't go as far as saying that this album and Kierra herself can match the stuff put out by Karen like another wayward reviewer suggested. That's just plain insanity on their part. That being said, this album is everything I had expected. Funky beats, catchy hooks, packaged with the typical Clark-growl or whatever they call it. Great listen, and I only expect her to get better, seeing that she is only 17 years old. My highlights include "The War", "You Don't Know", "Closer", "So Long", "Praise Offering", and my favourite "SNAP", the bonus track which is produced by T.Bizzy/Tonex, one of only two producers who can top J. Moss at this point, the other being the mastermind called Tommy Sims.
Lastly, I have a problem with a comment made by Nyerere Davidson. Stop talking about Kierra's voice not being "that special", and "I can sing better than that". That is uncalled for in the Body Of Christ because it is not a competition out here. You want competition go out in the secular world with your voice. When you make comments like that it only shows your age (18). If you can sing so good, get a record deal. Until then, just congratulate someone on a great effort and keep immature comments to yourself. Thank you and God Bless.

RIDICULOUSLY ANOINTED VOICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!,
By lany "loving" (DC area) - See all my reviews
This review is from: I Owe You (Audio CD)
OK, when people talk about how ridiculous someone's voice is it sounds hyped or trite because people say that a lot, but I really don't believe that applies here. For a 16-year-old or not! Kierra has a ridiculously bad anointed voice regardless of what age you're talking about. Especially on the song (I think it's "I owe you"), her voice literally gave me chills! "And thanks to you, for saving me one day..." Oh my goodness I felt her so much at that point! I agree with the reviewer(s) that loved "Sweetest Thing" and "War", I really liked those and is it true that her younger brother produced them for her??? That is a real gift. She is really going to bless the world with her gift and I think a lot of young people will become more open to gospel music after listening to this one!

Awesome!!!,
This review is from: I Owe You (Audio CD)
One word describes this CD - Awesome!!! Kiki Sheard did her thing with this. I have been following this girl since her pre-teens, when she would "feature" in a song or two with her mother, Karen (my absolute favorite female gospel singer) and I knew the first time I heard her she would be as anointed as her mother! I have been long anticipating something from this young lady aside from her mother and couldn't wait for Karen to let her off into her own. I am a middle aged married woman with kids ranging in age 12-17 and my whole family absolutely love this CD. If you don't know who she is, listen to her heritage - starting with grandmother, Mattie Moss Clark, Mother, Karen Clark-Sheard, Aunts Dorinda Clark-Cole and Twinkie Clark - (The Clark Sisters) and you will know that Mary, Mary is right when they say she IS the future of gospel. All others who don't agree, don't know when someone is truly anointed by God and a "true" talent (I have heard Kiki sing live and she is AWESOME!! - like the young people say, she is ridiculous!) unlike some of these lip-sync, voice enhanced singers in the secular world (perhaps this is what you are comparing God's anointed to?) She's going to be up there with Yolanda, CeCe, Karen, Vickie, Mary Mary - all those anointed women of God. I encourage young and old to listen to this young lady, watch the anointing of God raise her.

Kierra "Kiki" Sheard CD Review,
By Reviews@BlackGospel.com "Reviews@BlackGospel.com" (Philadelphia, PA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: I Owe You (Audio CD)
Take note, Gospel fans. For as of September 7th, 2004 Kierra Kiki Sheard is no longer the teenage prodigy paying dues as a background singer to mom and Auntie Doe Doe. Rather, the youngest member of Gospel's unofficial royal family is now prepped and ready for centerstage as a formidable recording soloist for EMI Gospel.
This fact is made abundantly clear on her signature disk - I Owe You - a riveting display of vocal mastery challenged only by the production excellence unfurled by heavyweights such as Warryn Campbell (Mary Mary), Paul Allen and J Moss (Karen Clark Sheard, Dorinda Clark-Cole) Rodney Jerkins (Mary J Blige, Whitney Houston) and her brother, J. Drew. It's an impressive feat, considering that Kierra is barely 20, yet her vocal chops are quickly drawing comparisons to an exclusive class of contemporaries that include Kim Burrell, Kelly Price and the mama, too - Karen Clark Sheard. On her world premiere release - I Owe You - Kierra Kiki Sheard strikes a delightful chord through eleven perfect tracks that are so well-crafted in arrangement, so skillfully produced in contemporary grooves, the album is well-deserving of attention and billing among chart-toppers today, regardless of genre. Let's take a closer look for evidence. The album gets off to a fun-enough start with You Don't Know, a testimony by K.K. Sheard on the goodness of God. This laidback groove by Rodney Jerkins leaves an open-door policy for Kiki to send her message with an adlib quality only Kierra could deliver. Let Go, the dance-inducing delight is sheer hype gone mad...beats by "Baby Dub" are sure to bounce you right through the Pearly Gates in no time at all. On Church Nite, Kiki gives a play-by-play rundown of the week, as young Christians balance worldly affairs with keeping the armor of God in tact by getting their tail to church on time. Paul "PDA" Allen & J Moss put their vintage PAJAM stamp on this chilling track that flows like butter. Kiki, now warmed up, flaunts a little of that God-given talent with a few riffs and hollas on Closer, another new millennium jam / end-of-time treasure crafted by the dynamic duo - J Moss & Paul Allen. Praise Offering, perhaps the finest selection on the album, allows Kierra Sheard to enjoy her gift and relish in her element, as she sings the praises of her Savior in awesome fashion. With a spirit and anointing that would make Dr. Mattie Moss Clark proud, Kierra unleashes the depth, power and versatility of her voice in an unforgettable five-minute span so well orchestrated by the PAJAM production team, you're likely to lose your composure on the spot. On Sweet Thing, Miss Sheard gets dangerously cute with her tone and delivery on a sugar-coated syncopated selection designed to raise your senses and soul towards heaven. Again, the producer, J. Drew, provides as squeaky-clean a track as anything ever to drop from Bad Boy or Rockafella. On War, Kierra Kiki Sheard makes a lyrically compelling case to go to battle, for Christ-sake. This Timbaland-esque track composed by both Kierra and J. Drew is hype-heavy with enough bumps and beats to wage holy war on the enemy in a minute. After soaking in this gem, I personally came to the conclusion that the album was totally legit...ready to roll with the best on the market today. But the Jesus-party wasn't over yet, as Kierra runs away another silky smooth selection, All I Am, produced by Warryn Campbell, which borrows from that heavenly hook first delivered by the SOS Band on the unforgettable track, Weekend Girl. Just sit back, close your eyes and enjoy this classic brought back to life with meaning and purpose. At this point in the album, Kierra puts on her COGIC hat and gloves and returns to the church sanctuary on Done Did It, a Sunday safe-haven, soul-seeking song, guaranteed to break stilettos and hardened hearts through a vocal assault only Kiki could unleash. The album neatly wraps up...well almost...on a soulful track called So Long, mellow enough music, where Miss Sheard makes an open confession that so many Christians can identify with...a yearning desire to return to that intimate relationship once shared with the Lord. Before farewell tidings are offered, innovator and multi-talented mortal Tonex lends his blossoming creative juices to the final track, more of that Nureau-mania designed to put an exclamation mark on an already potent project. I Owe You is truly an incredible debut release for this much talked-about artist, whose name and legacy carries so many expectations with it. From label execs to Clark Sisters fans, from Motown residents to the entire Clark/Moss/Sheard household, everyone is praying for Kierra's success. Certainly, everyone knew Kierra Sheard could sing but the question quickly became, "Could Kiki deliver the goods on her first CD?" The album is public confirmation on her unlimited potential as a Contemporary Gospel artist and Minister in the 21st century. The skies are really the only limits on this young lady who'll likely carry the torch on a proud and remarkable legacy for many more years to come. As well, hats off to all the producers on this project, who successfully found a variety of ways to match strong production behind one of the most potent voices to emerge in recent years.

This is the Future of Gospel,
This review is from: I Owe You (Audio CD)
Words cannot express the way I feel about this artist and this CD. Kierra "Kiki" Sheard is true music minister. It is astounding that she is only a teenager, but this girl has more anointing in her little pinky than...well, you get what I'm saying. She truly is the future of gospel music. Hailing from the legendary Clark family, Kiki continues in their excellent tradition of lifting up the name of Jesus in song.
1. You Don't Know - This song has grown on me. It's not my favorite, but I love the way she incorporates the Clark Sisters' "You Brought the Sunshine" melody into the bridge. 2. Let Go - This song by far is my favorite. Kiki's voice is amazing! I can't believe how high she sings on it without sounding screechy. It's got a powerful message about persevering through hardship, and she throws in a riff a la Dorinda at the end. 3. Church Nite - Cute song, good lyrics, and stellar singing as always. 4. Closer - Great song about getting closer to God. 5. Praise Offering - Oh my goodness. If you do not feel the Holy Spirit when you hear this song, you are not saved! For real! This song gives me chills. It is so heartfelt, sincere, and beautiful. Just listen. 6. Sweetest Thing - My favorite line of the song is: "He's the man in my life, and He always makes things right." Sweet song about Jesus being the lover of you soul. It was also produced by her younger brother. 7. War - Another song produced by Kiki's younger brother. Powerful. 8. All I Am - Very smooth and soothing. 9. Done Did It-Get ready to have some more church. Girlfriend goes to town on this one. 10. So Long - Not my fave, but still good. 11. Snap - Tonex delivers on this thumping, hard-hitting track. It's very Tonex-if you're familiar with his work, then you know what I mean. This is just such a wonderful CD. I encourage you to go out and buy it right now! You won't be sorry. Peace

Believe me; The CD IS Good!,
By Oscar A. Santiago (Puerto Rico) - See all my reviews

You CANNOT go wrong when you praise and sing about Jesus, because God says in Isaiah 55:10-11 that "For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, And do not return there, But water the earth, And make it bring forth and bud, That it may give seed to the sower And bread to the eater, So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it."
If you ask me, this CD is amazing because it is about the Word, God's Word! On top of that, Kierra has a great singing voice. May God CONTINUE to bless you and your family GREATLY as well as those who have the blessing of listening to your Gospel recordings!!! You CANNOT measure God's people according to secular standards. "Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is-his good, pleasing and perfect will." Romans 12: 2 Kierra, Remain in Christ, because He will supply ALL your needs beyond any secular standards! In Christ, Oscar
