This review is from: The Owens Valley Paiute - A Cultural History (Paperback)
Overall, this is a well put together study. It reads mostly like a college paper, so is well documented from other sources. Not a lot of primary material in this volume, but the Paiutes are a bit quiet about themselves. It therefore can be difficult to get information. This would mostly be a secondary source and not an anthropological study and is not comprehensive. It reads well. Another book you might look at if interested in the Owens Valley Paiutes is "Viola Martinez: Between Two Worlds." She is an Owens Valley Paiute. Part of it is in her own words and part biographical.
