This is another one of those oddball compilation CDs that includes some live Yes material (here drawn largely from "House of Yes: Live from House of Blues"), plus solo work from various past and present band members and family members (Adam "son of Rick" Wakeman). It is very similar in concept to previous CD releases like "The Yes Story" and "Friends and Relatives," and there is some overlap of material. Except for Yes "completists," this import CD and the others mentioned are hard to recommend. Fans of the band probably already have "House of Yes" in their collections, so what you're really buying this CD for is the solo performances, which are variable. But, it is a chance to sample former drummer Bill Bruford's Earthworks and the band's first guitarist, Peter Banks, even makes an appearance on this two-CD set. And, if you don't own "House of Yes," it is a rare chance to hear Steve Howe's take on Trevor Rabin's guitar parts on "Owner of a Lonely Heart." Your purchase of this CD will largely depend on how much you want to hear the solo performances or, if you don't own any of Yes' live albums, it does represent a chance to hear the band in one of its later day (though not current) lineups. Your move.
