Product Description

Most gardeners choose plants based on their flowers, but leaves are a big part of what we see year round. Triangularis leaves are a stellar purple, with deep rose patterning and a zippy geometric shape. For small plants with huge impact, mix triangular with silver leaved partners like Japanese ferns or artemesia or chartreuse mates as our photo shows. Exceptionally handsome in light colored ceramic pots. Also excellent as houseplants on a bright windowsill for color all winter.

I bought these to add a touch of purple to my garden and they have done swimmingly! Every bulb sprouted and blossomed very quickly, shoots were sprouting within a week of planting and it was maybe one more week until the blooms started showing. They look exactly as pictured and with such purple foliage they are a beautiful contrast in all of my pots and landscaping. I planted the majority outdoors in partial sun, with a few indoors. It seems the ones outdoors do a bit better (as expected), sprouting maybe 3-5 more stalks per bulb whereas the indoors ones only have one or two stalks.

Side note: the best planter combination I found was to plant these as the center flower surrounded by creeping jenny - the oxalis is so lush and plum, it's a good contrast with the olive green color of the creeping jenny.

I know nothing about gardening so I was nervous about buying seeds. I was worried that I would kill them just by opening the package wrong or that they would require a special fertilizer, specific sun exposure, and constant soothing music played at a low volume or something. Well, they might, but I just put them in some random dirt in a pot and set them on the deck. When I remembered them I took a look and there were tiny purple shamrocks struggling to survive. I like their spirit! These are great little plants from hardy seeds.

I got this to grow indoors, but it requires more light than is available indoors. Still a good plant if you can provide the necessary lighting.

The tubers sprouted a few days after the estimated time given, and they're growing as fast as weeds. Had to repot within 2weeks of sprouting!

I planted these bulbs the day after I received them (August 22) in water-control potting soil in a 6 inch ceramic pot with drainage. I kept the pot in my kitchen which is brightly lit and receives direct sun in the afternoon. I watered them for 2 days then left them for 2, then alternated between watering and misting them for several days. My first sprout came up on August 29, and it took off after that. There must be at least 20 full clovers now with sprouts coming up every day. They open up and reach towards the sun every day and close up every night. They're so cool and cute.

I'm completely new to gardening and plants and I had success with these.

I planted these in August in the Pacific Northwest; germination took a little longer than I expected but two months after planting I've got a nice patch of flowering shamrocks. Shipping seemed a little steep but they arrived in good shape and a timely fashion.

These were certainly "live" bulbs! I had new plants quickly in time for special gifts. I love the colors in my garden and they don't freeze back. They come back stronger each year.

They started sprouting about day 4 with more popping up every day since. They pop up with beautiful purple triangle leaves. I am happy.
