Alfalfa is very nutritious, full of fiber, energy, protein, calcium and other nutrients. It is the wonder food of the hay world.
But even "wonder foods" have their place. There are times you can and should give alfalfa to rabbits and other small animals, as long as you remember, "Everything in moderation".

I have been purchasing Oxbow hay for years for my rescued house rabbits. Oxbow alfalfa hay is very fresh and a nice green color and my rabbits love it!

I did not know this brand.
After seeing the positive ratings I was totally surprised to receive a pulverised package that I had to throw away.
There were like 1 or 2 hands full of hay hidden in the green powder but I decided not to give my guinea pigs a dust lung.
This should not have been sold. Not as hay at least.
It might be unfair to the brand but as I had to throw the first product away I will change back to my old brand.
I will obviously not start a process of returning a 6 buck article and drive a few miles to the next UPS drop off.
Luckily I decided to try one bag first and did not order 10 as I intended. That was some pricey "hay".
