3.0 out of 5 stars Rabbit eats it, but not favorite type of Oxbow hay
Title pretty much says it all... I got a variety of the Oxbow minibales for our rabbit to see what his hay preferences are. He much prefers the Western Timothy and Orchard Grass to this stuff, but he will eat a bit of this as well. In the future will probably not be repurchasing, though, as he eats more if I give him the other stuff.

I bought Oxbow Oat Hay when I had a gift card and my Guinea Pig loved it!
Only problem is the Oxbow Oat Hay is pretty expensive sometimes but it's worth is since my Guinea Pig loves it.

2.0 out of 5 stars Love oxbow...but this isn't that great!, January 16, 2011

This stuff is okay once in a while, but a little too expensive to use instead of the timothy hay. The guinea pigs weren't that thrilled by it.

I have tried all kinds of hay, especially timothy of various brands, since that's supposed to be the best for rabbits. How much money I've wasted! Even with the herbs in it, they turn up their noses at any kind of timothy. Same story with numerous other kinds of hay until I found the Oxbow oat hay. They love it, and munch it on and off all day long. Occasionally we'll get some bags that are a green cut of the oat hay and they'll look at me like "Hey-ho, what's THIS?!" (if you have rabbits, you know that look). Apparently, they only deign to dine on yellow oat hay. So try the yellow if your buns won't eat the green, or vice versa. My local Petsmart now carries the oat hay, but I order it from various places online since it's about half the price and I have to order their pellet food online anyway. Just wish it came in bigger bags like the timothy does, since they go through it quite rapidly!
