This workbook accompanies the Wordpower dictionary. It is tailored to the needs of intermediate learners of American English who already possess some basic knowledge of English but are not yet ready to use a college dictionary for native speakers. They need the help that a learner's dictionary can provide: meanings explained clearly and simply, natural examples showing how words are really used and guidance on areas of difficulty in language and culture. Their need to increase their vocabulary is addressed by a network of cross-references and usage notes which guides them from one word to other useful vocabulary items.
