This review is from: Oxford Blue (Paperback)
Oxford Blue is another entry in Veronica Stallwood's very readable series.
Kate Ivory is having a breather from the stresses and sorrows she experienced in the previous book, "Oxford Knot", where a close friend is
murdered in Kate's front hall. She has escaped to a supposedly quiet
cottage in a nearby rural village, but of course soon there is another
murder for her to solve. This time she has the companionship and help of
her mother Roz and, additionally, the village vicar - a rather strange young man. Somewhat lower key than her previous books, Stallwood still
maintains the intrigue until the last few pages; admittedly, the solution
is not much of a surprise. Nevertheless, I was entertained along the way
by the loving banter between Kate and her matchmaking mother, and it was
a relief to see Kate slowly returning to her former confident self. Once
again this is a well-written and highly recommended entry in a consistently good series.
