Book Description

Young Oxford Companions January 20, 1994
This is more than a series of biographies of the Presidents of the United States, although extensive biographical articles on each of the Presidents and Vice Presidents are included. It's a one-stop guide to the Presidency, arranged alphabetically for easy and quick access.
Articles are cross-referenced and include sources for further reading, and photos, cartoons, and illustrations are used liberally throughout the text. Plus there are tables of Presidents and Vice Presidents, complete election statistics, a time-line of important dates in the development of the presidency, and a listing of Presidential museums, libraries, and historic sites. Never has this much information about our presidents--from Washington to Clinton been packaged so entertainingly in one book.
The Young Oxford Companion to the Presidency of the United States is more than an essential reference for young adults. It's an invaluable and thoroughly enjoyable resource for students, teachers, and librarians.

"An alphabetically organized reference to terms, people, and events associated with the presidency. The book includes appendixes on topics such as election results, important dates in the development of the presidency, historic sites and libraries, and additional resources."--Cobblestone
