A great practical vocabulary resource for students of English
The OPD shines in providing practical vocabulary in American English with pictorial support for all kinds of everyday needs. no diacritical marks
Great concept and very thorough in terms of vocab, but without diacritical marks for vowels it's impossible for a beginner to know how to pronounce the Farsi words. This is an incredibly stupid oversight.

Useless if you are trying to learn Farsi. Beautifully illustrated. I think the company sells a audio companion, I will check into that. This book was designed for Farsi speaking students learning English I believe. I still give 3 stars because I think is nice to have.

I teach adult ESL classes and my students love Oxford Picture Dictionaries. Now that a Farsi bilingual edition is available, I get a lot of requests for this book. It may not be good for learning Farsi, but it's a great tool for learning to read English, if you have some knowledge of phonics, or if you have a teacher or some other source of correct English pronunciation. Great for in-class study and at-home review. It's nicely organized, and the pictures are very detailed.

I was excited to get this book.
Although I can already read, listen to, and speak sentences and paragraphs in the Farsi language, I I bought the book as an aid for others. Now I don't want to share it for long periods of time because I like using it for myself. The price is great! Would like a sound file to go with the book. Maybe that will come out, too?
