Nice picture dictionary arranged in themes. Meant for Creole speakers learning English, but very helpful for people like me who speak English and are learning Creole. Would be even nicer if the exercises at the bottom of the pages also had the Creole translation as the rest of the items do.

Si ou vle pale kreyol, ou bezwen achte liv sa a. This is a great dictionary for those wanting to know the Haitian Creole translation to English words. I had this dictionary before and ended up giving it to a good Haitian friend trying to learn English and missed it so bad I bought myself another.

It was bettet than the expected. I was surprised with the quality of the book (paper, colors and images). The contens organization and the vocabulary is very helpfull. I speak spanish as native language so this dictionary is a good english review while I am studying kreyol.

All of the Oxford Picture Dictionaries are amazing! I use them with all of my students who come from many foreign countries. This book is the best thing for vocabulary. You can use the book to teach English or Creole by working with a particular topic or the students can easily use the book to learn practical vocabulary for daily interactions. I highly recommend this book!!!!!

In the process of adopting 4 Haitian children who know little or no English I have been concerned about communicating with them on the most basic level. I also will be homeschooling them and know that there are areas not covered in a regular English/Creole dictionary. When I purchased this dictionary I had hope that it would be helpful. Little did I know how helpful. This dictionary which has pictures to help understand the concept is going to be an excellent tool for the children as well as for me. I use it now to translate letters to and from the children. It is not a program for teaching English but it will be useful everyday to communicate to the children what I need for them to do and to understand them as well.

I purchased the Oxford Picture Dictionary of English and Haitian Creole to give to a nurse in Haiti who is studying English. She and I used the book during a language tutorial for several days, and she greatly appreciated the pictures and translations. The price is low, considering the quality of the book, the numerous illustrations, and the number of pages.

I didn't get the chance to grow up with my haitian side of the family so this dictionary gave me some study material along with pictures to follow to give me a jump start on my next visit with my grandmother :) :) I would recommend it to anyone even people who claim to be fluent.

It is a good resource to have although it is not exactly as I expected.
It has social scenes and different armosheres with translation.

I am learning Haitian Creole and purchased this book after looking at the online preview and reading the reviews. It has so much vocabulary I can use and learn. The pictures will be a big plus since adults are more visual learners. My Haitian friends took a look and wished they had the book when they were learning English. They had other similiar books but nothing this great they told me! I am absolutely satisfied and can't wait to jump in and learn more and more vocabulary words in Creole to add to my basic knowledge of the language.
