This fine publication is a splendid addition to my reference library! With over 85,000 entries, it is the most comprehensive rhyming dictionary I have ever seen. Using this reference work for rhyming words is great not only for poets, but for anyone who wants to add more innovation and fun to his writing. I especially like being able to choose from "strong" rhymes or rhymes that are less strong. It is easy to use because of the extensive index where one begins as he searches for that prime rhyme. Use it at teatime, playtime, showtime, dinnertime, springtime or any time! Use it in health and wealth!

This is quite an amazing rhyming dictionary. My only problem with it is that it's based on British English pronunciations. While most words are pronounced similarly between the Brits and the Yanks, it can be very frustrating to have to sift through the results and the entries themselves to find the rhymes that match our pronunciations. Ultimately, I plan to replace this one with something more... American.

Anyone writing verse needs this dictionary. It is by far the most complete rhyming dictionary available in English, and easy to use as well.

Of the many rhymning dictioaries I own, The Oxford is among the best.

Not only end rhymes with one or two-syllables, but a decmil system for finding words with three syllables and beyond that rhyme.

This is without a doubt the most comprehensive rhyming dictionary out there. I'm in love with this book!! It has come to my rescue many times while writing poetry. I highly recommend this reference material to anyone whose looking for an assortment of rhymes.

Exhaustive, easy to use, and I can find words very quickly. The margin tabs make it quicker and the quality, quantity of possible rhymes and the well thought out distinction between rhymes is remarkable. I use it all of the time. An essential tool for poetry and song-writing if you are looking for just the right word.

This is the second of these books I have had over the years. I gave my other one to my Granddaughter who is very interested in poetry. I have always found the books to be very easy to use, once you have mastered the numbering system. There are many words which are very useful for out of date sayings or verses. The system of indexing is quite complicated but easily mastered. and is a beautifully printed book, as are all the range of Oxford reference books.

This was purchased as a gift - the recipient was thrilled with how many entries there are. Only drawback in our particular case is that the print is very small and difficult to read for those with any vision limitations. But, if the print was bigger, the volume would probably weigh too much to lift! Good purchase, nevertheless, and I would recommend it to others.

this book is very ussefull..and easy to understand im a writer and i find it very helpful when im writing poems, short novels, songs or w.e wether its 4 skool or for my own personal use... i would definately advise u to get it

Seriously, that's all one needs to know. I've purchased many rhyming dictionarys and perused all the the online ones and the Oxford Rhyming Dictionary is by far the best

and very easy to use.
